About
Boronia Village Fish & Chips is a popular takeaway spot in Boronia, Victoria, known for turning out fresh, well-cooked food at fair prices. The shop has built a solid reputation in the area, with regulars and newcomers alike returning for the quality and friendly service.
The menu covers a good spread of classic fish and chip shop favourites. Flake is a highlight, arriving fresh and well battered, while the hamburgers draw particular praise, loaded with flavour and cooked to order. Potato cakes come out crispy with a proper potato-to-batter ratio, and the chips are the real deal, golden and crunchy rather than the limp variety. Souvlaki also features on the menu, rounding out a solid range for a suburban takeaway.
The shop is casual and quick-bite focused, takeaway only with no dine-in seating. Pricing is kept reasonable, which keeps the locals coming back. The venue is wheelchair accessible with both on-street and off-street parking available, and card and NFC mobile payments are accepted.

One of the best Fish & Chippery in the area!
We love the Butter Fish & Chips :o)
Fair prices from Dec 2023…
Mmmmm if u love dry, stale, powdery seafood and chips definitely come here😍.
Every crab stick had powder in it (see the graphic photos attached) and I couldn’t tell if I felt ill from the possibility of being spiked by the white powdered substance or just ate raw battered powder!
I won’t make this review too long so I’ll just list the pros and cons:
Cons: hard chewy potato cakes, cold half raw chips, hard fish (didn’t think that was possible!), unknown powdered substance in seafood sticks, calamari was harder than coal.
Pros:
WOW 🤩 WOW 🤩 WOW 🤩
Old school Incredible hamburger 🍔 and the flake was so fresh. Lovely friendly owners & a spotless shop. Best burgers 🍔 in Melbourne.
Will definitely 💯 👍 be back .
Wow amazing fresh food.
Fish was fresh and well battered. Hamburger was also fresh and the beef party was perfectly seasoned. Potato cakes were cripsy and just the right potato to batter ratio. Chips we tastey and crispy, proper chips not the yellow fake ones.
Differently ordering from here again.
Greeted with a welcoming smile as a first timer new to the area , l ordered souvlakis .
I had a feeling it was going to be good as a Mediterranean older couple just looked like they’d be doing it for years.
I got home it met my expectations, it was great the best I’d ever had .
Thanks to the shop owners great job, I’ll be back soon 🤓👍🏻
Look, maybe I caught you guys on a bad night but the burger patties were so burnt and didn’t taste great at all, maybe change the burger all together it was very plain. And yeah, chips were also tasted and felt stale. Nice workers tho!
Ordered an onion hamburger with a small serving of chips. Prices are very reasonable. Food was cooked to perfection. There was heaps of onion on the burger. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.
Honestly can’t “complain”. I’ve had perfect fish and chips here. There has been the occasional tough flake but that’s not really the cook, more the catch. The only thing I don’t like is the potato cakes. They went a bit hit and miss and now they’re just funky. Thick ones are hard in the centre. Others very small and very green/black inside with a DO NOT EAT taste. They used to be awesome so hopefully they fix the issue. For a local F & C shop, you’ll likely find them very good. Hamburgers & chips are awesome too. Service is very good. Order via phone and pickup. Takes like 15mins. Efficient serving/ wait time.
