About
Off The Boat Fish & Chippery & Kebab is a popular takeaway and delivery spot in Cranbourne North, serving the south-east Melbourne corridor with a menu that draws on genuine Greek cooking traditions. The shop is run by a couple known for their hands-on approach, making their own potato cakes and chips the old-school way. Fresh flake is a regular on the menu, and the souvlaki selection adds a welcome kebab dimension alongside the classic fish and chip shop staples.
The chips here have earned a strong local following. Regulars describe them as crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, with the salt level consistently on point. The food arrives non-oily and well-presented, and portions are generous. It is the kind of place where a hungry family can phone ahead for a mixed order of fish, souvlaki, and potato cakes and have everything ready to collect piping hot on arrival.
Off The Boat caters well to families, with a kids’ menu available and the setup suited to a casual dinner out with children. Kerbside pickup and no-contact delivery make ordering convenient, and the shop covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. A wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance are available, and free street parking is nearby.
For anyone in the Cranbourne North area looking for a fish and chip shop with a bit of extra character, this one is worth checking out. Phone ahead for larger orders during the dinner rush.

Supporting local businesses during this challenging times, we ordered by phone a couple of different fish, a variety of souvlaki, potato cakes and minimum chips to feed a hungry mob for dinner. By the time we got there, the piping hot orders are almost ready and wrapped up quickly.
Love this place! The couple that run this shop are lovely and they give you lots of chips! Their chips are soooo perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They get the salt level perfect each time too! The fish I always order is the gummy one and it’s so juicy and delicious! Never dry. This place is definitely our go-to fish & chip shop! Highly recommend
Well this the best fish n chips place in the south east. Made by genuine greek couple the old school way in making there own potatoe cakes and chips. Fresh flake and just right. Non oily clean looking food. Brilliant.
This was to say the worst fish and chips we have had in some time and we went here on a freinds review I’m just not sure who cooked for them!
Food way to over cooked and prices online are not the same as in store.
When I heard they were greek owners I was like yep no thinking twice well HUGE mistake and for nearly $80 of food in the BIN kids still hungry as are the adults this is beyond uncool
People if you are going to own a take away shop then give the food the love it deserves otherwise time to SELL
I really hope you read your reviews abd change your cook or cooks and take pride in your shop!
I should have brought it all back to the store but unfortunately it went straight to the bin and its good Friday so I’m trying to be nice and also the lady taking the orders plsss smile and be alittle more friendlier.

Thanks George
The best chips and fish we have had in Melbourne and we are lucky enough to live just around the corner!!
Friendly service and staff but overpriced and the batter is rubbery and thick, everything dry and overcooked. Have tried a couple of times and the same thing sadly.
Since the elder Greek husband & wife sold their business the food quality is not as good. Tiny potato cakes. Flake is tiny & not even real shark, it doesn’t taste like real gummy shark which flake is supposed to be, and don’t even bother getting a cold drink from the fridge. The fridge isn’t even turned on. All drinks are warm.
They probably should consider changing suppliers. If i were the new owners i would look at competitors quality and compare
