About
Menzies Fish & Chips is a casual fish and chip shop serving the Dandenong North community with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options across lunch and dinner. It draws a steady local following, with regulars returning week after week for the reliable quality and reasonable prices.
The fried fish here has earned a genuine reputation. The batter is described as light with a proper crisp, while the fish itself stays tender and juicy rather than dry, which is not always a given at a suburban chippy. The chips are a highlight too, soft and fluffy on the inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside. The shop also serves fried mussels, Dory, and scallops, all noted for being fresh. The batter can run a touch on the greasy side for some, though the overall flavour lands well with most who visit.
Menzies is family-friendly, with a kids’ menu available, and the shop is fully wheelchair-accessible with an accessible car park and entrance. Street and lot parking is free, and the venue accepts credit cards, debit cards, and NFC payments. No reservations are taken, so it operates on a walk-in basis.
For anyone in the Dandenong North area looking for a straightforward, good-value fish and chips experience, this shop delivers consistently for its regulars. Check opening hours below before heading in.

Regular customer yet. My daughter and wife like it very much. Good quality and prompt service at reasonable price.
Passing by this fish and chip shop, the fried fish steaks were not dry at all. I was very surprised that they were tender and juicy. I was also very surprised that I ate fried mussels for the first time. The taste was very delicious. I have bookmarked this shop so that I can come back next time
Quite tasty little fish and chip shop. The Dory and scallops are always fresh and tasty. A little heavier on the grease but a nice and light batter.
The hamburger and chips are ok but they just put their prices up so make sure you check the board

Why would I pay $18 when I can get like for like for $14 at Bluewave – second photo
Chips were stale. Potato cakes were disgusting. Oil needs a clean. A smile would go a long way. Most sour person i have been served by.
Came here once since I moved to this side of town, best chips I’ve ever had in Melbourne and the asian gentleman has delivered every single time – it’s always soft and fluffy yet with a crisp. They had a trainee try it last week but the difference was very noticeable, the gentleman there always delivers and he knows his timings to perfection.
I like it so much I try time my meals around getting a meal on Sunday so I won’t be left hanging on their day off Monday.
Tried most of their menu and anything grilled or battered, tastes amazing and I see the craftsmanship of their service as they clean the grill meticulously after each serve.
I really love their food. It is absolutely delicious and always very fresh
I go visit this place every week and without fail it is the best fish and chips in the area by far.
The reviews moaning about the service are quite funny to me – you’re getting take away, and for a great price too. By that measure they could throw food at me and I would give it five stars!!! But they do even better by always making the best fish around. Never cold, never a long wait.
Do yourself a favour and don’t let the 3 stars (at time of writing) fool you. This is a good old fashioned no frills fish and chip shop that won’t let you down. The locals know it!
