About
Plaza Fish & Chips is a casual fish and chip shop on the Diamond Creek dining strip, offering takeaway, delivery, and sit-down meals for lunch and dinner. The menu covers the classics: flake, calamari rings, dim sims, potato cakes, chicken nuggets, and seafood sticks, with accessible parking and mobile payment options making it a convenient stop for families.
The potato cakes draw consistent praise when freshly cooked, described as crunchy, not oily, and well-seasoned. The fish souvlaki also gets a good wrap, with fresh fish and the option to choose your variety, served with salad and garlic sauce. Calamari has been a highlight for many regulars, though the experience can vary from visit to visit. Chips and other staples are solid on a good day, and the service is generally noted as friendly and polite.
It is fair to say the kitchen has its peaks and troughs. Feedback over time points to some inconsistency, particularly with chips and calamari on off days, and more recent visits suggest quality has softened a little from earlier highs. That said, for an affordable, family-friendly meal in Diamond Creek, the shop holds its own and keeps a loyal local crowd coming back.
A kids’ menu and wheelchair-accessible entry and car park make it a practical choice for groups of all ages. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times short.

I popped in for lunch W/ my partner & best friend we had Flake, crab stick, chips & corn jacks & they all tasted good. The lady who served us was also polite. If you’re looking for an easy & affordable lunch come here
Rubbish service, slow, rude and food off. Pathetic! Ordered and paid online 25min ahead of first available time. Received text stating 20min late (no apology). Got to shop – need to add another 10min. After that – add yet another 10min. Zero care factor from manager or staff. Fish was also off and smelt very very bad. Did not want batter – fish was battered. Avoid this joke of a shop at all costs. I would have given zero stars were this an option. Hopefully will avoid food poisoning. 🤢
Potato cakes were perfectly cooked. Not oily, not overcooked and not too salty. Nice and crunchy and delicious! Fish Souvlaki was also perfect. Fish was fresh and you could choose type of fish. Enough salad and garlic sauce. Not too salty.
It was a healthily made Souvlaki. Recommend this place.
Hi . I hope you get this blog. Very inconsistent food. Sometimes chips are fluffy an delicious. Other times just ordinary. Potatoes cakes if cooked properly are great. Calamara I’ve had 6 times were beautiful but this time rubbery ,undercooked, full off uncooked batter/ breadcrumb. Steam dim Sims need an upgrade . Please cook your food little longer thanks
UPDATE 10/3/25
Quality seems to have dropped, therefore I am lowering this from 5 to 3 stars. Still great service though.
Original review follows:
Really nicely seasoned homemade potato cakes.
Chips were nothing special but they were also good.
Sloppy workers couldn’t handle 3 orders mid day on a Sunday and the man was yelling at his co-worker over nothing. No good service
Good food, very reasonably priced, extensive menu. Good value for money.
I decided to try. I am comparing my local fast food places. First thing first. The man who served me was not very engaging. His cooking partner was just as enagaging. I was the only person in the shop. Lack of energy, Lack of Quality and should do some research on batter. Fresh batter is best used very cold. The colder the batter, the better the result. Sitting it next to the deep fryer is a bad result. Look it up on any good cooking platform. Fish was tasty but the batter let it down. Dim Sim was very dark and ok, but overcooked. Started from frozen I suspect. Potato cakes were the better part of the meal. I would go over the road to get a Bahn Mi next time.
