About
Yellowtail Fish & Chips has built a steady following in Diamond Creek, with regulars pointing to consistently well-cooked food and chips that come out genuinely crunchy. The shop is known for getting the basics right, and those who ask for extras like chicken salt find the staff happy to oblige. A few locals reckon the quality has actually been climbing over time, with some recent visits producing some of the best fish and chips they’ve had in the area.
The menu covers the staples you’d expect from a solid suburban fish and chip shop, and the venue is set up for families, with a kids’ menu and easy wheelchair access to both the car park and entrance. Dine-in, takeaway, and delivery are all available, which makes it a practical option for lunch or dinner on most days of the week. Free parking is close by, and the shop accepts card and mobile payments.
Portion sizes have drawn mixed feedback, with some finding the whiting serves on the modest side, particularly when ordering through third-party delivery platforms where pricing adds up. Ordering direct is likely the better move for value. When an order has gone astray, the team has stepped up to fix it promptly, which counts for something.
Decent reviews from a healthy number of visitors suggest this Diamond Creek fish and chip shop holds its own in the local area. Phone ahead during the dinner rush if you’re after a quick pickup.

Ordered $27.80 worth of fishos including $4 minimum chips and this is what we got… not even enough chips for two people, when we called up they proceeded to tell us we can come back and get more chips but will be charged for more. Will be taking my business to Mr. Chip at least they are friendly.
Rude and disappointing
Called up at about 8:15pm to get a quick feed before they closed. Everything was great, well cooked like i said, extra chicken salt like i requested and really nice and crunchy.
This fish and chip shop has been my local for over a year now, well done to the whole team 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Dismal portions of whiting. 2 pieces were only enough for one person.
I made the mistake of ordering via Uber Eats (pick up) and while it might be expected at some places for there to be a small surcharge, it was $15.70 for each tiny piece of fish. $31 for the 2 pieces. Ordering in store is &11.20 each. Why such a huge extra charge for one piece of fish? It wasn’t even very fresh. Hugely disappointing.
Other places in the area don’t charge extra for using Uber eats to order pick up food. I understand that the service costs money for businesses but it was actually the only place I could find or view a menu online. Even if there did need to be a small surcharge, I wouldn’t expect it to be nearly 50% of the menu item cost.
I am now tending to believe more of the negative reviews on here. I wanted to believe the positive ones but my experience confirms more of the negative. Won’t be going back.
They take lot of time to prepare the oder and the counter guys are not friendly. They act like we are here to get the food without paying. Horrible experience.
Ordered from here, got home and found part of the order was missing, went back and they fixed it and offered me free drinks.
Food was good quality. Aside from the pain in the arse of the round trip it was fine
Too friendly servers! potato cakes awesome!
Lovely staff. Food is good enough re quality, but scabby sized fish. Whiting costs a lot more but check out the size as compared to a pack of crumpets… this must be how every woman who ever ‘slept’ with Trump felt… disappointed
Always been the best in Diamond Creek but gone to the next level.
Not sure if you’ve upgraded equipment but it’s been getting better and better. Tonight was the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. Chips were ridiculously good and Blue Grenadier is unbelievable as always.
Keep up the good work
