This was my first time ordering and unfortunately it will be my last. The fish I received was completely burnt and inedible. The chips were not fresh and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. I ordered a Greek salad and received a bed of leaves with minimal tomatoes, few olives and slices of cucumber and onion. The chicken burger and pineapple fritters were the better part of the meal but still not good enough for the overall price charged. $66 to feed 2 adults and 1 child. Incredibly expensive for what you get.
The staff member was so very friendly and the food was great. Have seen the reviews on the previous owner and I assure you this management is doing wonders to this fish and chip store.
I recently visited Hooked fish and chips and ordered the Glenroy Special Pack, and I must say, it was excellent! The fish was golden and crispy on the outside while tender and flaky on the inside—exactly how fish should be cooked. The chips were equally impressive, with just the right balance of crunch and fluffiness. The owner even added extra chicken salt as requested.
What truly set this experience apart was the attention to detail in preparation. Everything was cooked to perfection, served piping hot, and seasoned wonderfully. The portion size was generous, offering great value for money.
The staff were friendly and efficient, making the entire experience even better. Definitely recommend getting the Glenroy special pack. I’ll certainly be returning soon.

It would have to be the worst fish and chips i have ever seen. Spent over $50 for the rubbish they tried to feed me. Burnt dry Fish you couldn’t even eat. Chips were dry and uneatable. Potato cakes looked like they came out of a frozen supermaket bag and were not fresh. I’ll be calling them tomorrow and asking for a full refund as the order came as they closed. I felt like spewing inside the bag and delivering it back to them. Disgusting how you can charge for this rubbish food. DO NOT BUY from this shop you’re wasting your money. Should be shut down !!!!
The “flake” was like biting into deep fried shoe leather. Inedible. The chips were stale and tasted like dishwashing detergent. What are they frying this stuff in? Everything went straight into the bin. 100% The worst fish and chip experience we’ve ever had. Disappointing given the abundance of reliably good fish and chip shops in the area. This isn’t one of them. Avoid.
Very nice fish and chips. And they have fresh jalebi on some days. It’s halal and run by a Pakistani brother.
Worst piece of flake ive ever had. Couldn’t even have a bite of it. Like a piece of rubber.
Have ordered fish bites from two other shops and they were quite large as in the photo in this website. About 8″ and cooked in batter. The ones I received today were the size of a dim sim, too crunchy to eat and not what I paid for or expected. Very disappointed.
