About

The kitchen takes gluten-free dining seriously. A dedicated fryer and separate preparation area handle all gluten-free orders, including a gluten-free calamari option, making the shop a genuine option for those with coeliac disease rather than an afterthought. This place is brilliant for those of the Coeliac kind. Very friendly and helpful staff who take extreme care even during the late Friday night rush.
They have a separate fryer and preparation area for the gluten free foods And batter everything as ordered – see picture of fridge. Which by the way the batter is not oily but lite and crunchy… fish and chips have never tasted so good. Plus the chips and potato cakes are made in house and free from a lot of the junk you get in the prepackaged stuff.
#thegrumpycoeliac strongly approves of this establishment.
Came here for lunch and all staff are friendly and efficient. Our salads were nice without too much dressing (which is good). Tabouli was a little watery for some reason but still had nice flavour.
The fried fish (flake and barramundi) were cooked well and prices are excellent considering how much you get.
A no fuss and well cooked local fish and chips.
This place deserves more reviews! The fish and chips was so good and the portions are huge. Thanks for existing. Im weird so i ate this with my own hot sauce and chipotle dip. Definitely worth the money and taste! Will try the grill one next!
Absolutely amazing fish and chips.
Very clean and amazing, friendly service. Would 100% recommend and I like it here that much that I will be coming here again even if it is slightly a bit far from my place.
Delicious fish and chips! Affordable prices, very generous portions. The owner is great, friendly and truly committed to quality!
I can’t comment on the service & atmosphere as I got delivery, but I’m disappointed that the food isn’t the same as the Jims I’d come to trust over the years, even with my gluten free friends.
Today I ordered a chicken burger, which used to be a generous portion of chicken breast cooked & seasoned perfectly, in a very soft bun, something you might crave. What I ate today was a small portion of chicken thigh that got lost in a huge, slightly stale hamburger bun. It would have been nicer to know the cut has changed, but the seasoning was right. I ordered fried food as well, but the batter was too thick & not crunchy, resulting in a very disappointing potato cake, and fritters that were hard to get through. I am relieved to see there’s still gluten free food however!
Usually I wouldn’t post a negative review but I hope the quality improves as I have always enjoyed Jims seafood over the years and would love to keep coming back 🙂
The best fried fish I have had in a long time. Delicious.
Excellent use of spices and chicken salt.
Not sure when this place changed owners but it is by far the worst fish and chips I’ve tasted in a long time. The oil made the potato chips taste just.. disgusting. Steak sandwich was flavourless, dim sims were over cooked? And they’ve jacked the prices up substantially. Service was good though, really unfortunate to leave this review 🙁
