About
Hampton Park Fish & Chips has built a solid reputation among locals in Hampton Park and the surrounding suburbs of Melbourne’s south-east. With well over a hundred reviews and a consistent four-plus star rating, the shop is known for well-cooked fish and generous portions that keep regulars coming back week after week. Some patrons travel from neighbouring suburbs specifically to visit, having found their own local options falling short by comparison.
The staff are a genuine drawcard. Long-serving crew members are familiar faces who serve with a warm smile, and several regulars note the same friendly faces have been part of the shop for more than two decades. That kind of continuity is rare, and it speaks to the community feel that Hampton Park Fish & Chips has cultivated over the years.
The shop operates as a takeaway and delivery service, making it convenient for families wanting a casual meal at home. It is family-friendly, and the car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible. Payment by debit card, credit card, or NFC mobile is accepted, and free street parking is available nearby. The shop is popular across both lunch and dinner service, so phoning ahead during peak dinner hours is a smart move.
Worth a visit for anyone in the Hampton Park area looking for a reliable local fish and chip shop.

Got a burger with the lot, minimum chips and a calamari ring. $12.50. The chips were fine. The burger wasn’t too big or tasty but it was okay. The calamari ring was burnt and tasted terrible.
Now known as “Big Jay Hampton Park”. My local fish&chips shop – yum ! Friendly staff, excellent service with a warm smile. Always Support Local.
i asked for a SMALL CHIPS. couple potato, cakes, a couple dim Sims, and a pineapple fritter and she asked me if i wanted it with the chips and i said that’s fine. i kid you not this is all the chips we got!!! and asked me extra salt and got none. terrible.
Food under cooked chips dry and my scolope and sausage in batter under cooked too the patter is so soft. The potato cakes way too thick. Only good thing was the dim sims I won’t be coming back again. The workers need to be trained again how to cook fried food. It’s discusting.
This shop is great, I travel from another suburb just to get dinner or lunch from here. My local shop (since takeover isn’t as good) so that’s why we come here. Never had any issues at all…
One of the places to get takeaway in the area. The fish is always cooked perfectly & portions are great and the owners are so lovely! Definitely coming back
It was early in the evening. However, our chips were not cooked properly, and scallops were drowning in batter and overpriced
Always a great experience with the crew here, they have been here since I’ve been here, over 20 years. Still serving great food with a smile. Thanks team
