About
Big Bite is a family-owned fish and chip shop in Hoppers Crossing that has built a loyal following over many years. The same familiar faces behind the counter have kept regulars coming back, and that sense of consistency counts for a lot in a suburban neighbourhood.
The chips are a clear highlight, consistently fresh and well-regarded by those who visit regularly. Potato cakes are another favourite, and the chicken schnitzel burger has earned a strong reputation as one of the better value meals on the menu, coming in under nine dollars. The broader menu covers the classic fish and chips experience alongside burgers and hot dogs, with pricing that compares favourably to much of what else is available in the Hoppers Crossing area. Fish receives a mixed response from different visitors, so it may be worth trying on a busy evening when turnover is high.
Service is courteous and quick, which makes a difference at lunch and dinner when the shop is at its busiest. Dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options are all available, and the venue is family-friendly with coin-operated toy machines on site. Free parking makes popping in easy.
Open for lunch and dinner, Big Bite is a solid option for families and regulars across the western suburbs. Phone ahead for larger orders during the dinner rush.

Ordered $6 chips for delivery and this is the amount I got. Potato cakes not cooked properly.. souvlaki very salty.
We’ve ordered from here for about 2 years, but today’s order was just not it. I am not allowed to eat pork, I ordered 2 crabsticks and when I went home to eat it, I took a bite out of one just to discover it was a pork sausage in batter. And, they put chicken salt when I had asked for normal salt. Please fix this ASAP.
By far the best fish and chip store in the area. Have been patronising this place for over 15 years and it’s so refreshing to see the same faces behind the counter every time I come back. Family owned and operated. Frying oil changed regularly, never a burnt taste. Potato cakes are always crispy. Food always hot and never soggy. Best lot burgers in the West. Don’t listen to the haters.
The last time we ordered here was over a year ago as it was so disappointing! but tonight was nice and fresh! Our hot dog and burger was on point good prices as everywhere else is way too expensive! my son the picky eater ate his whole hot dog so we were happy. Keep up the good work as we would love to order again with the same quality x
That chicken schnitzel burger was off its head for being under $9. Probably gonna get at least 1 a day from now on
Reasonable quality. But very disappointed as less than half the order arrived and the best they would do to resolve the matter is offer a store credit, which I have not received.
This place is my partners pride and joy. He will pick this place over any other, even if he was miles away. The chips never dissapoint, the potato cakes SLAP and the fish, even though I hate fish, is delish!!
This place is incredible, and if you go in person bring $2 coins, they have those fun machine things for toys
I am rather disappointed with my experience, as the souvlaki was very oily, fell apart, sloppy. The potato cakes were like rocks with barely any flavour. Chips were average. The flake however was fairly good, nice taste but overall not great. Very average, needs improvement.
