Had a pretty good burger with the lot here and not over priced at $8.80. The butter fish was delicious and the chips with chicken salt were good. Also can’t go wrong with the egg and bacon roll.
Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on the way through to Adelaide- Burger quality was very adequate- we got a chicken burger, fish burger, egg and bacon sandwich and a burger with the lot. We were all happy. They did want to charge us 50 cents a cup which we thought was crazy. Overall happy with the local.
After seeing the reviews we stopped to get a hamburger and steak sandwich with chips. Man it reminded me of the old Fish n Chips days. The owner was very polite and friendly when we placed the order. My steak sandwich was amazing and the chips golden brown. Sorry no photos as it didn’t have time.
Sad thing is McDonalds is next door and seeing people going there waiting to eat crap processed food don’t know what they are missing.
I highly recommend going there for your next meal.
Best fried fish in town, soft, flakey juicy fish in a light but crispy batter and clean oil. Always pleased with the product, friendly old fella is always pleasant and puts care into every meal.

Travelling through Horsham, best hot chips I’ve had in a long time.
Well cooked and good amount of salt.
Quick service and very nice.
Staff were lovely, great food, and great value at $22 for a huge serving. Highlight has to be the chips – not a huge portion size but plenty for a filling meal, not too oily or hot, and choice of regular or chicken salt. Better than most fish and chips I’ve had in Melbourne, a great find while travelling through the area 😌

Dimboola Rd Takeaway is everything a proper fish & chip shop should be. Great food, generous portions, and that classic old-school feel that’s getting harder to find.
What really sets this place apart is the people — the owners and staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel like a local from the moment you walk in. There’s a personal touch here that you just don’t get at chain stores.
Consistently good, honest takeaway done right. We’ll definitely be back 👏🍟🐟
Such a lovely man! Fish and chips were amazing! The crunchiest batter I’ve had in a long time!!
