About
Inlet Fish & Chips is a casual dine-in and takeaway spot in Inverloch, serving both locals and the visitors who pass through on their way along the coast. The shop handles busy periods well, with a team that regulars describe as friendly and patient even when the queues stretch out. Outdoor seating is available, and the venue welcomes families, groups, and solo diners alike.
The menu covers more ground than a typical fish and chip shop. Alongside classic fish and chips, potato cakes draw genuine praise, and the chicken schnitzels, burgers, pizzas, and chips with gravy give the menu a broad appeal for families with varied tastes. A kids’ menu adds to the family-friendly setup. Chips with chicken salt is a combination worth trying, and the potato cakes in particular get a mention from regulars as some of the best around.
Consistency can vary on quieter versus busier nights, and a few visitors have noted the chips can lean a little dry when the shop is stretched. That said, plenty of visitors have left impressed, especially those stopping in Inverloch for a quick, affordable lunch. Free parking and wheelchair-accessible facilities make the location easy to access, and the shop accepts card and mobile payments.
Phone ahead during the dinner rush, as the venue does not take reservations and wait times can build quickly on busy nights.

Was a busy day. Good food. I looked back at some of the reviews and was a little worried. But the service was fast and good the food all be it delicious we found the chips to be a little dry and powdery. But there was a good amount, more than enough for 2 people, probably could have been enough for 3 adults. The pizza was very filling.
Thankyou to the friendly team tonight for my family’s order..
amazing chicken snitz burger,
The teens loved their chips n gravy and other things.
Amazing pizzas and food all round
And amazing patient service with the teens choosing ice creams
Also friendly staff on tonight.
Only downfall
The only downfall about it is that steep step.
How are people meant to get in the shop with wide prams or wheelchairs or those whom can’t use stairs like the one that’s steep at the shop? I couldn’t get my pram up last week. A ramp or something needs to be installed.
One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Stopped in Inverloch for a quick lunch en route to Sydney. Totally did not expect this very affordable and flavourful dish for just AUD$12. Try it with the chicken salt.
Ordered pizza and fish & chips. Pizza was ready after 20 minutes but 1 hour later still no fish and chips. End result pizza soggy and cold. Chips over cooked fish batter yuck and extremely oily. Worst experience worst food and worst service.most of the food went straight in the bin because kids refused to eat it. Was worst $165 ever spent.
Plenty of other options in Inverloch. Never ever go back to this place.
Transaction being disputed with Bank.
Went on a busy night just before Christmas, lots of people waiting. Ordered fish and chips, the chips were very good and potato cakes also very good, some of the best my family have had recently. Looked like there was only one person doing the cooking on such a busy night – the wait time was over 40 minutes! Even though the food was high quality and very tasty, the fish I ordered was missing from the order and I didn’t realise until I returned to my cabin, so I was very disappointed. The service from the staff was OK but they need more help on the busy nights over summer. I recommend the fish and chips, just be prepared for a lengthy wait AND check your order before leaving.
Ordered minimum chips, few potato cakes, dims sims, corn jack and a lamb souvlaki. Pretty sure the rest of the order sat around for 15 minutes while the souvlaki cooked. Chips were soggy with zero salt on them. Souvlaki left a lot to be desired. Friends had pizzas that looked okay, but no indication they were ready as we waited around until we asked. Was pretty quiet, got told 15 minutes, didn’t see anything for 30 minutes.
Ordered pizza. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t blow us away. The guy that took our order was nice and when we asked for a spicy pizza, he asked what level and added heaps of jalepenos for us which was nice of him.
The barramundi and chips are just okay (chips are soggy, and barra are okay), BUT……
We went on a busy day on the Saturday of the Australia day long weekend. Waited one hour and a half just to find out they get the order wrong.
Also they got several orders wrong eventhough there’s a lot of staff in the store on that day (several people had to go back and complain). Lots of people on a peak day, understandable that staff are all over the place.
However, they should also be more mindful as the ordered food items are someone’s lunch or dinner, and it ruins the appetite when you have to wait for an hour and a half, then get the wrong order in the end. Quite disappointing.
For reference, ordered 2x meal bundle Barramundi and Chips, drinks and tomato sauces, got told we only ordered 2x Barra without the 2 chips. Even forgot to include the 2 tomato sauces if we didn’t ask… 🤦🏻♀️
If you’re going to get food here, make sure to check your orders before leaving the store. And be prepared to wait for more than an hour on a peak summer day.
We should’ve checked the Google reviews before ordering here… 🙈
