So disappointed. We got a mega to feed us all today and everything was so overcooked it was practically inedible. $100 wasted
This place is honestly the greatest fish and chips I’ve had ever. The one back at home is good but coming up here for holidays and having this it’s just so good. The atmosphere is amazing and fits the beachy vibe well, especially becuase the beach is literally a 5 minute walk up the road. The gelato shop being next to it as well it also a bonus. If anyone comes down to Venus Bay for the first time or staying in the caravan park, try the fish and chips, trust me đź’Ż
After visiting the garbage River View Pub down the road who ran out of food, my mates and I were left stranded with nothing to eat. After stumbling across the Agapi Fish & Chip Shop at approx 8:30pm we were told the shop closed at 8. However, great man Tom could sense a few disappointed customers and let us in past closing time where the lads behind the counter cooked up some dimmies and cakes for us. Super nice bloke,
Appreciate the great service Tom. Living legend of Venus Bay.
Went on a just summer day and it was packed. Don’t mind waiting 20 minutes if they serve up chips as crispy as that! They were so good we got some seconds for the drive back in the afternoon! Fish was great also, big servings
Placed a large order (7pm 6-Jan-2025) and was told it would take ~20 mins. The majority of our food was ready after 20 minutes and was sitting under the heat lamp, however it took an additional 35 minutes for the last part of the order (calamari rings) to be prepared, meaning the majority of our order was sitting there getting soggy. During this period other smaller orders (which were ordered after us) were being served, which is fair enough, however some of these orders had calamari rings! I don’t mind long waits for fish and chips, especially during the busy periods, however the majority of our food sitting there for so long was not OK. Food was average fish and chip shop quality, just extra soggy.
Great fish and chips, nice and crispy, well cooked and very tasty.
The fish batter in particular was excellent, they must have a secret recipe.
I would definitely eat here again.
Nice round of fish & chips,… the real deal👍
Went to this fish and chip shop a while back and forgot to give them a review. Just wanted to say that their sea food was spectacular, clean crispy batter , great fish, scallops, prawns, crab sticks, pumpkin and pineapple fritters , chips with chicken salt. Brilliant ! Honestly the best fish and Chip shop I’ve been to in the last 15 years. Try it people !!!
