About
Inverloch Fish & Chips is a women-owned takeaway shop serving the Inverloch community with fresh, locally sourced seafood made to a traditional Gippsland recipe. The menu focuses on sustainable fish and seafood, moving well beyond your typical coastal chippy with burgers, souvlaki, chips, and snacks. Vegetarian options and organic dishes are also available, along with coffee, making it a handy stop for a varied group.
The batter here gets a lot of attention. Regulars describe it as genuinely golden and non-greasy, with a satisfying crunch that holds up even on the walk back to your accommodation. The chips draw similar praise, crispy outside and soft through the middle. The Invy Super Burger and the Invy Seafood Bundle are popular choices, and South Melbourne dim sims make an appearance on the snack side of the menu. Not everything lands perfectly, with some items receiving mixed feedback, but the core fish and chips deliver consistently for most visitors.
The shop is family friendly and set up well for takeaway, with outdoor seating and kerbside pickup available. Dogs are welcome outside, and free parking is on hand both on-site and on the street. It does get busy, so phone ahead during peak periods to avoid a longer wait.
A solid spot for fish and chips in Inverloch, particularly for those after fresh, sustainable seafood with a regional flavour. Check opening hours before you head in.

Day at the beach at Inverloch
So we had to have fish and chips that were really nice.
Service Professional
I THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 👌
We ordered the Invy Seafood Bundle, Battered Hotdog, 6 Nuggies and a South Melbourne Dim Sim. The chips were really yummy – crispy, yet soft on the inside. We ordered this for takeaway and by the time we got back to our accommodation, the batter was still really nice and crispy on everything we got except the battered hotdog, which was a bit soggy. The calamari and fish (we ordered barramundi) were my fave things in the pack. So yum!
Great old school burger 🍔
Fries were average/acceptable 🍟
Spring rolls were atrocious 😂
Nice spot for a quick ravenous feed after a day at the beach 🏖️
Tables outside for when you’re wet from the beach.
I recommend the InvySuper Burger, Min Chips and a Pepsi Max.
Terrible food and expensive – super oily food, bland chips and shorted us 8 dim sums and a whole flake in our order. Go elsewhere
The greasiest fish and chips we have ever had. The potato cakes is what kills it. So incredibly thin and oily. The paper was almost translucent it was that greasy. We were also charged for 3 flakes when we ordered 2.
These were the best chips I’ve had since I was a kid. The fish was in the most golden yet not greasy batter, really crunchy. Not one bit of the meal was soggy or greasy. Just golden and beautiful. I told the staff I will be leaving this review I was so impressed. Considering the trip back soon from rosebud just for the food haha – no I’m not joking
Told 30 minutes, over an hour later. Ordered a Chicken Burger with the lot, a was missing the lot! No tomato, no egg, no bacon, was awfully dry, and we ordered din sims and got none, and charged for it all. Terrible service and poor food quality and charged for food we didn’t receive
Very disappointing experience. We arrived in the morning, when no one was there. They said 10 minutes took 25 to get it out of the kitchen.
This was honestly the greasiest fish and chips we have ever eaten. Everything was soaked in oil and left a heavy, unpleasant aftertaste.
It also seems the fish is completely frozen before cooking. They don’t serve it without batter or crumbs, which makes it feel like the coating is just there to hold the frozen fish together rather than highlight fresh quality. The fish inside lacked freshness and texture. Plus look at that tiny piece of barramundi.
Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back. Definitely not what we expected from a fish and chips shop.
