About
Kingsclere Fish and Chips is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Keysborough, serving the local community for lunch and dinner with both dine-in and takeaway options. The shop has settled into a positive run under its current ownership, with a friendly approach to service that regulars have noticed, including the occasional generous gesture at the counter.
The menu draws consistent praise across a few standout items. Has changed ownership a few times in recent years to varying success, however the latest owner was really nice and generous (gave me a complimentary 2 litre bottle of soft drink with my order). Chips and Potato Cakes were great! I had a Burger with the lot that took me back to memories of the old days and was quite ‘clean’ but tasty. Locals should get behind them and support this little local business. Not greasy, tastes great and good portions. Fantastic little Fish and Chip Shop.
The quality of the food is below satisfactory, I’ve ordered here several times and all fried food is either over cooked or taste old. The batter that the previous owners used was crispy and fluffy! Great potential but definitely needs to re-evaluate the cooking methods or try another batter formulation and change oil frequently because it affects the taste of the food
Food is great, batter on the fish is crispy, also ask for extra crispy chips at no extra cost. The home made potato cakes delicious. 5 out of 5 for the food. Also friendly service.
The fish and chips here is good. When I arrived this time they weren’t doing battered fish because there was an issue with the batter (wrong flour was delivered or something), while I was disappointed, I appreciate them not putting out product they aren’t happy with. The grilled fish was good, potato cakes, burgers, dummies, all excellent.
Online ordering makes it very easy..chips are crispy and cooked well. Flake and dim sims cooked to perfection. Potato cAkes a little thin but can’t really complain. Good value local option.
The food was amazing. The dim sims were excellent. The potato cakes were very big and very tasty. The flake was very tasty and was cooked well.
I just realised they changed owners….. this new owner burns and overcooks everything.
good local fish and chips. the owner is nice too
