About
Hoffman’s Road Fish & Chips has built a strong reputation in Niddrie over many years, drawing loyal regulars who keep coming back for the quality of its fish. The snapper and flake fillets are what the shop is best known for, and both are consistently praised for being fresh and well-cooked. The cooking oil used here gets a specific mention from regulars, with many noting the difference it makes to the flavour of both the fish and the chips.
The menu covers the classic fish and chip shop staples, with snapper and flake the clear highlights. Pineapple fritters have also earned genuine fans among the regulars. Service is fast and friendly, which makes a real difference during busy periods. Phoning ahead to order is a popular move, letting customers collect without the wait.
For families in Niddrie and the surrounding suburbs, this is a reliable spot with a kids’ menu available. Everything is takeaway only, so there’s no dine-in seating, but the shop is wheelchair accessible and free street parking is nearby. Pricing is considered fair for the quality on offer, which goes a long way to explaining why some locals have been stopping in for close to two decades.
A well-rated fish and chip shop that earns its following through consistent food and welcoming service. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep things simple.

I ordered ahead so even though the place was busy I was able to simply get in and out. The staff are friendly, the food was both fresh and delicious. I am really only leaving this review because I ate the best Pineapple Fritter I have ever had in my life and I will absolutely order again.
Been a customer for nearly 20 years. Food has always been of a high quality & the friendly service can’t be beat. Could not recommend more

Good old fish and chips. They don’t use seed oils and you can really taste the difference!! My go to for a few years now
Good quality F&Chips. I saw a comment about expensive – it’s not. We ordered 1 pc Snapper fried, 1 pc Flake (Gummy Shark) fried, small chips & two dim Sims. Took it down to the river & had a lovely little picnic 👍 Very tasty, fast service, great price, very happy customers, thanks guys
Good Food. Cool atmosphere. Enjoyed the magazines on the sitting places.
