Good potato cakes and pumpkin fritters. Average chips. Friendly service. Reasonable prices.
A basic cheap eats option if you’re in the area. I found the fish and chips a little soggy and could be crispier. Burger is ok, on par with any other place.
Service was quick. Some seating indoors but you may end up smelling of oil when you leave.
Overall 3.5/5
Ordered:
Fish and chips $7.00
The Lot Burger $10.00
Got to be the rudest place I’ve ever dealt with.
I’ve stopped in a few times purely out of convenience due to the location, but every time I’ve walked in, I’ve been met with blank stares and a cold “yep?” – no greeting, no manners.
Both the lady and the guy who work there have consistently been rude, dismissive, and standoffish on numerous occasions. It’s the same cold energy every time.
Today I called to place an order. I answered the phone with a friendly “Hello, how are you?” and got a blunt “yep” in return. I repeated myself, only to be hit with a rude “What do you want?”
The place is always quiet and looks run-down – which actually made me want to show some support, hoping it was a hidden gem. But now it’s clear why it’s always empty.
Food is average at best
Steer clear and support one of the many other friendly, welcoming shops in the area instead.
Great quality takeaway food. Always very fast. Good to pickup on the run and decent value.
Been going here for our fish and chips for years..
Family run business..Always great happy service
The fish and chips shop from hell. Abysmal customer service, below average undercooked food. Opened up the fish and it was undercooked and disgusting. When I asked nicely for a few napkins please at the end and she gave me 1 single paper thin napkin. Don’t waste your time or your money.
I’m disappointed. We whether it’s lockdown or not, they no longer serve like they used to . Even getting a simple smile is hard to get . I got food the other day and the food quality has gone down with the service. The food is cheap and taste like it. I really don’t recommend but it’s there if you’re hungry.
Delicious & I’m picky with chips in particular. Really enjoyed everything I tried. Thanks!
