So many recent bad reviews from fake accounts, just wanted to write an honest review coming from a Level 6 Local Guide!
Ever since the new owners have took over the restaurant nearly everything has been revamped which is a good sign to see, they first started with changing the oil that they use for frying every night from what I was told and saw last night when I visited the restaurant about 30 minutes before the closing time! I ordered their grilled fish which I was told they upgraded to the highest quality gummy shark flake which tasted incredible I must say, also ordered some chips which were crispy. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant and I hope to see bigger and more improvements made.
Stopped going here when the food when downhill, decided to go back when the new owners took over. Unfortunately the chips were bright yellow and didn’t seem much better. I saw on a Facebook page a photo that looked like they had got better, so we gave them another try. As I opened the packet the whole side of the paper was covered in oil, the fish and the potato cakes were also covered in oil, the potato cakes just tasted like oil, I couldn’t finish them. The chips had gotten better, but had no flavor and we needed to add salt. It’s really disappointing.
Got lunch today at 1pm phone order-65 and was quite surprised! What is usually very good since the new owners, today was just not any good 🙁 chips were very soggy and lacked salt while potato cakes where uneatable due too being soaked in oil and falling apart
I know it was busy but I saw my Grill’d fish sitting there for 20mins before you made my chips not impressed. And I’m sorry but I ordered a double pack and extra minimum chips that is ridiculous
The grilled fish is covered in batter which was disappointing. I didn’t realise I had to ask for gluten free if I didn’t want the batter so I couldn’t eat my fish tonight. The fish and chips here seems to be a hit or miss. Very average tonight but sometimes it’s really good!
Friendly staff, fresh and high-quality food, and fast service. We were very satisfied with our order and will definitely come back. Highly recommended
Placed an order through Uber eats tonight two pieces of butter fish with chips 2 potato cakes and Chiko roll when it was delivered we did not receive butterfish only flake and the potatoes cakes, chips and chiko roll were all over cooked and dry very disappointed. Tried calling numerous times only went to voicemail
I”ve lived in Rowville 30 yrs. Originally a good fish & Chip Shop.
Its Changed hands a number of times with me hopping it would improve. The atmosphere was hectic although there weren’t many customers. On Friday 27th 06 I waited 35 minutes for an order I was originally told would take 15-20 minutes.
The Fish was heavily battered and oily. One fish was Dark brown on the outside, Chips were Ok, Dimmies were OK.
Ill wait for new owners before going back.
