Visited Taylors Lakes Fish ‘n’ Chips under its new ownership, and the experience was wonderful. The store has been beautifully renovated — clean, modern, and welcoming, with a lively atmosphere.
The food was excellent across the board.
The fish burger was generous in quantity, with crispy, well-seasoned fish and fresh salad.
The hamburger with the lot delivered on flavour and portion, while the cevapi roll stood out with juicy meat Nd homemade sauce.
The fried fish was cooked just right — light, crunchy, and not greasy. We also tried a selection of chips and battered items, all served hot and fresh.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The owner, Sam, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell he genuinely cares about quality and customer experience, which reflects in both the food and the atmosphere.
This local favourite has certainly stepped things up. A great option for quality takeaway with good portions, fresh ingredients, and a polished new look.
Absolutely love this place! The food is always fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour hands down some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. The new owners are doing a fantastic job. You can really tell they care about quality and customer service. Everything is clean, well run, and has a friendly local vibe. Highly recommend giving them a try if you haven’t already!
Great fish and chip store. I was worried when the new owners opened but they’ve done a great job exceeding the quality of food and service.
The team are friendly and the food is fresh. I’d recommend to anyone who’s in the area to stop by.
At nearly $14.00 a burger to receive three burgers, one with a burnt bun and all three with raw meat inside is disgusting. The man that wrapped the burnt burger clearly would have seen the burnt bun. Not to mention we asked for the meat to be well cooked. Called them and their attitude was come back and we’ll give you a refund. This was never about getting our money back it was about paying $120 for quality food which we didn’t get. Won’t be returning.
Firstly, let me say that I am a genuine fish ‘n chips aficionado (self-proclaimed of course 🙂 ) so I know a good product when I see & taste one.
Secondly, I am NOT the owner’s brother or brother-in-law or even his son (so this positive review is unbiased – Trust me !!)
Here’s the TL:DR review for the busy executive:

Been here several times since the old owners left & the new owners began and can honestly say that the new look Taylors Lakes fish ‘n chip shop ROCKS !!
Usually get Flakes, potato cakes, chips, burger, sometime a dimmy or two & of course pickled onions (essential for that true fish & chips experience, lol) and always very satisfied & happy.
Cooked perfectly, always tasty & very friendly polite service from the young lad behind the counter (give that kid a pay increase NOW!)
These guys must use a quality oil & must replace it regularly as there’s never any greasy, rancid after taste. It actually tastes healthy.
Fish is always fresh which is what you want & the light (almost tempura style) batter on the flake is so very nice. Really!
Potato cakes have a decent potato centre & minimal batter coating (unlike other joints which have a razor thin potato slice & a ton of batter to fatten them up)
Burgers are A1 & well cooked !!
The only complaint I would make is that there’s no beer in that drinks fridge. WTH!!??
Beers & fish ‘n chips are the perfect combo when you’re sitting outside on the tables.
Guys, get some beer happening. Ice cold now that summer is coming.
Joint tends to be quite busy on Fridays & weekends which is indicative of them serving a quality product that is in demand (otherwise it wouldn’t be busy, obviously)
Lastly it’s a family run husband & wife business so let’s support the little guys right ?
It’s the right thing to do & you know it.
Maccas, KFC, Hungry jacks etc . . . . Pfffft !!!
Go here instead.
So much better.
You won’t regret it.
Very satisfied customer here. Will certainly be back for more.
Change absolutely nothing & keep up the excellent work.
Without any fear of contradiction – – – – -> 5 stars all the way !!!
So I understand this is under new management, but it was the first time that I was trying it. The food is fantastic and fresh, the chips are crunchy, the souvlaki‘s are delicious. The shop is very clean and I highly recommend this fish and chip shop for the area. Good Fish & Chips are hard to come by and you will not be disappointed.
Our first experience yesterday
Bought 2 battered blue grenadier fish.
A beautiful tasty light battered fish
Impressed 🥰
Loved how neat and clean it is too
We will be back 💯
Thank you
we did a catering order and everything was perfect, you can tell the oil used to make the fish n chips is of good quality as everything was crispy and not drowning in fat . The shop is very clean too. highly recommemd
