About
Seanora is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Thornbury, serving the local area with takeaway and delivery across lunch and dinner. With a strong reputation built on solid word-of-mouth, it has become a familiar name for residents in Melbourne’s inner north looking for a reliable, casual feed.
The menu covers the classics and then some. Flake and barramundi sit alongside calamari rings, potato cakes, and dim sims, giving plenty of reasons to return. The fish burger has attracted genuine enthusiasm from regulars, and the cheeseburger is widely considered one of the better examples you’ll find at a fish and chips shop in the area. Potato cakes consistently draw praise for quality, and the chips are noted for being well-cooked rather than greasy. The chicken souvlaki is another highlight, a pleasant surprise for those who might not expect much from that style of dish in this setting. Value for money comes up again and again as a reason people keep coming back.
Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available, and the venue is family-friendly, making it a comfortable choice for a casual meal. Service is quick, which suits those grabbing a takeaway order in a hurry. Free street parking nearby keeps the whole experience straightforward.

Best fish and chip place in the area. Good chips, potato cakes and flake. Would recommend!
Cheese burger is one of the best I’ve ever had!
Potato cakes are also really good.
More importantly a great price for a great meal
Best value fish and chips in the north! Love this place and consistently good. The new fish burger on the menu is also absolutely to die for! A must try! Thanks for being so yummy and local! X
First time trying Seanora as I wanted a quick takeaway fix. Ordered pickup on Sunday lunch — chicken souvlaki and steamed dim sim with soy sauce. Normally I’m skeptical when ordering souvs from fish and chip shops, but this one was delicious. Although there were only 2 chicken tenders and didn’t look like a lot, it was very filling and delicious. Chicken wasn’t dry and the whole thing was wrapped so well that the sauce didn’t drip everywhere. If you’re taking the dimmos home, maybe DIY and don’t ask for the sauce as it was a bit too much for me 😅
Food was done very quickly. Would go back to try their fish and chips offerings 👍🏻
Had this before and it was great, but this time with chips weren’t cooked properly and the fish was a little dry.
This used to be my go-to fish and chips, but unfortunately the new management have not been able to maintain the high standards of the previous owners. Fish is flat and overcooked, chips are undercooked and the burgers are just a mess. 3 stars is probably being generous to be honest.
Easily the best fish and chips in Victoria. Fantastic meal! Brilliant service! I am no fan of oily fish and chips but this place is the ultimate exception! The most delicious burgers and chips cooked to perfection. Their fish is always fresh and goes down a treat. Their service is top notch and they are always willing to accomodate to your liking. Highly recommend them as your go-to fish and chippery.
I love this place amazing food, amazing people and just amazing everything burger with the lot is the best burger I have ever had
