Been here a bunch for gluten free fish and chips and can highly recommend their fish, dimmies and potato cakes. We often skip the chips because they have been a bit hit and miss but the rest is always bang on.
Have been ordering from here for a while, though recently their chips and other battered things have been disgusting.
Oily, fried too long… chips have this odd overly-yellow colour, its as if they’re yesterdays leftovers re-heated in the microwave!
Will not be returning here unless something drastically changes with their cooking process/oil/etc. There are far better places within the CBD/city!
The most amazing old school hamburger I have had the pleasure of eating In.a long time.
The prices are amazingly affordable,no wonder this place was always busy when we were in there ordering .
Support this fantastic old school quality takeaway in Bendigo .
Generally only call into this fish and chip shop for gluten free options for my wife. I’m not a fan of the batter but my wife appreciates being able to have fried fish and potato cakes.
Got told food will be ready in 30min which is fine they’re busy. But I then get there after 30min and proceed to have to wait another 35 minutes before the food is ready! Just tell me it’ll be over 45 minutes so you don’t have people frustrated waiting for their food, absolute shambles in there. And then getting home the chips were soggy and fish was rubbery will not be going back ever!
So hard to find good GF but this is the second visit and the chips did not disappoint. Wow.
Those chips! I might get grilled GF fish next time though that batter was a bit thick but the fish itself was fresh
I was having ‘one of those days’ and just needed something to eat. I think it was written on my face, as the guy who served me even said as much. Polite service, good food, cheap price. Will be back again.
Had a burger with the lot, it was mostly very good, the only thing I didn’t like was the very soft bread roll, it was very tasty and good value. It’ll go back and would recommend this place.
