Got fish and chips
Fish was excellent
Chips were perfect
Only down fall was no lemon for my fish(not sure if that’s extra $$$ in Hobson bay) but got a sneaky potato scallop which made up for it
If you are hungry I advise not to come to this place very stingy, hardly any chips. There is no hygiene measures in this place did not then use any gloves when making the burgers the ladies were more than happy to touch the food with their bare hands.

I am so disappointed. Have gone to this shop for years. I just bought a fish burger. It was big, but it was so bland and terrible. The batter in the fish was not cooked properly, the mayo cheap, and the raw dough on the inside made it inedible. I just wanted to sit by the sea and enjoy a treat. This certainly was not that. The seagulls enjoyed it. I bought 1 scallop as well, that was fresh and lush (5✨️) but the batter thicker than I remember it. Hope the seagulls enjoyed their $14 fish burger. Hope it goes back to thin well cooked batter and flavoursome food. But, I’m out on this one.
I asked for 2 flakes 2 crumbed prawns and a small chips which the 2 flakes and the small prawns was a steal with a small chips being too much for two but the crumbed prawns for 2.50 was too much but all right of taste and when asked for regular salt with not too much amount of salt was perfect. If the prawns would have be for 1.50 per each would have been a great deal. But thanks and would recommend.
I’ve been to Hobsons Bay Fish & Chips a few times now, and it’s honestly one of the best in the area. The fish is always super fresh, the batter nice and crispy, and the chips have that perfect crunch without being too oily.
The staff are friendly and quick, even when it gets busy around dinner time. Prices are fair for the quality, and the serving sizes are great you definitely get your money’s worth.
It’s become my go-to spot whenever I’m craving good old-fashioned fish and chips. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re around Williamstown.
Avoid the barramundi it tastes purely of ammonia. Its probably older than myself. Serving sizes are decent and my partner had the flake which was clearly the fresher of the two. Chips somehow don’t taste great and were undercooked across all orders. I appreciate its busy but customers would rather wait 90 seconds for their food to be cooked than be served it undercooked.
Fish tasted like dirt, didn’t eat it….never go there again🤢

Very excited to have GF fresh calamari this visit, along with GF flake & chips. The family had massive burgers which they loved. The staff took lots of care to keep my GF food seperate from everything else, thank you!
