About
Ballajura City Fish Supplies is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Ballajura community in Perth’s northern suburbs. The shop offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, making it easy to enjoy a classic feed however suits the occasion. Free on-site parking and full wheelchair accessibility add to the convenience, and a kids’ menu makes it a practical choice for families.
The fish and chips are the clear draw here. Regulars describe the batter as light, crispy, and non-greasy, with the fish inside staying flaky and moist. Chips come out golden on the outside and fluffy through the middle, and the overall portions are considered solid value for money. Battered prawns also get a strong mention, with at least one regular returning after a long absence specifically won over by them. Potato scallops feature on the menu too, though some feel they could be a touch more generous in size.
The team’s friendly service is a consistent bright spot, with regulars noting the welcoming atmosphere as part of what keeps them coming back. Like many local shops, quality can vary a little visit to visit, so catching the kitchen on a good run makes a real difference.
Ballajura City Fish Supplies is a reliable option for anyone after a good fish and chips in the Ballajura area. Phone ahead during busy dinner periods to keep wait times short.

Visited this establishment, when 1st moved into area. 4years ago. Was that bad, never went back. Thought I’d give them another try, as was at shopping centre about month ago & had fish & chips & battered prawns. & they were sensational. Been back twice since then. 1st time same. 2nd time had a young man on counter, taking orders & wrapping. Very slow wrapping 1st time. 2nd time, didn’t salt my food. Food still good. Just need to give their staff a little more training. Or instruction.
Was searching for a new F&C shop after my local, changed
management.
2nd order in and still impressed. Good batter, not oily. Potato scallops could be bigger, but happy with overall quality. When the craving kicks in, Ballajura all the way.
Should have gone with my gut instinct and not ordered but gave them the benefit of doubt. Walked in and it was dead silent, questioned if they were even open! The smell of old oil was unavoidable and the one and only staff member clearly did not want to be there.
Once home and served up some chips were still frozen, the fish was soggy and didn’t smell right, crab sticks were ok but also was unsure if I should eat it. Disappointing as reviews were previously great! Pretty hard to come by a bad fish and chips, first and last time at this establishment for us.
**★★★★★ Amazing Fish & Chips!**
Just had an incredible meal at here! The fish was perfectly flaky with a light, crispy, and non-greasy batter. The chips were golden and fluffy on the inside. Friendly service and great value. An absolute must-try! Will definitely be back.
The team are always so friendly. The food is yummy. We love coming here thank you so much for always being so friendly
Best fish and chips I have ever had.
I used to come herr with my nanna and grandad. With my sister and cousin. When we got old enough, we would run across the road ourselves. I miss my
Nanna and Grandad so much. I miss my cousins and sisters so much. I was trafficked by the boys at the tattoo shop I worked at.
They only wanted me in the shop in the first place as a plan to get me back over here for the man over east who I was kidnapped by when I was 14.
They made it look like it was all my choice. A man came from Perth and spiked my drinks for a few months and bashed me for a few years. It took five or 6 years away from the abuse for memories of him spiking my drinks and bringing me up to QLD to come back. It says a lot about it of the Aus Fed Police website about human trafficking. I have not seen anyone from my family in 13 years. I love my nanna Carmel and grandad John so much.
Every time I have fish and chips I remember this shop and wish I was there still. Thankyou. I wish my cousin Jamie was still my best friend and always by my side at a computer. Thankyou, love from Caitlin.
Mate do not listen to the other blind buggers, this place is brilliant. Amazing staff who make you feel welcomed as well as tasty and well priced food with plenty of variety to choose from.
