About
Boulder Fish ‘N’ Chips is a casual fish and chip shop serving the Boulder and Kalgoorlie region, with a menu broad enough to keep the whole family happy. Snapper and barramundi are the headline fish options, and the Fisherman’s Basket and the house Bolda Basket give those after a generous spread plenty to work through. Greenshell mussels add a bit of variety beyond the usual chip-shop fare, and a fish burger rounds things out for anyone after something a little different.
Portion sizes are a genuine talking point here. Regulars note the serves are substantial, with the fish cooked tender and the chips coming out well. The squid rings are popular and known for being a decent size. The combo packs, including a fisherman’s share option with snapper, dim sims, potato cakes, pineapple fritters, and chips, are considered solid value for two people. Vegetarian options are available for those who prefer to skip the seafood.
The shop is open for both lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all on the table. It is family-friendly with a kids’ menu, and the casual setup makes it a comfortable stop for groups and visitors passing through the Goldfields. Wheelchair access covers the car park, entrance, and seating areas. Payment by card and mobile is accepted, and parking is free on-site and on the street. A wait during busy periods is common, so phoning ahead for larger orders is a good idea.
Phone ahead during the dinner rush to avoid a long wait.

Ordered 1 serve of fish and chips and six squid rings.
I couldn’t eat it all which is unusual for me.
Fish was tender and cooked perfect, chips were also awesome.
Squid rings were massive and tasted sooooo good!
GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!!!!!

Still the best fish and chips going!
Better than most in Perth!
Wouldn’t go back. 75c per onion ring. Paid $44 2 fish, $5 chips, 2 pineapple fritters, 6 onion rings and 2 dim sims. Barely any chips for $5. But 75c per onion ring. Won’t be going back.
We bought a fisherman friend pack $33. 2 pieces of snapper, 2 dim Sims, 2 potato cakes, 2 pineapple fritters and chips. Plenty of food for two and fish was very nice. Good value.
Food fantastic and satisfying 5⭐ but the Indian lady with glasses who wrap and serve it to you is an absolute joke, number of times never get my full order always missing something and have watch her number of time wrapping up orders reopen them to check and still get it wrong.
Overall food taste wise is on point and there fish burger the lot is off the chart
This was really disappointing as we usually really enjoy the food from here, we order from here as they are one of the few places that sell shark as its my partners favourite and was the only fish we didn’t receive ☹️ also received the wrong flavoured drink, would have preferred they rang and said they didn’t have that drink available as the one that was sent is one of the very few my daughter is allergic to. I don’t know what is going on there at the moment but food quality has definitely gone down. Sorry for this review but I will give another try in hopes use redeem it as we usually love our food from here
Fish and chips were terrible. Chips like old ones cooked to many times.wont go back
Only way to tell the difference between dirt and whiting was the dory was still half raw , they both tasted like the same dirty burnt oil , $43 wasted !
Should also mention the online ordering was crap too as I went in 15mins after ordering , and they hadn’t seen the order yet 🤷
Ps the pickled onions were great for getting the taste of dirty oil out of my mouth 👌
The steak burger here has good quality. It’s not incredibly delicious, but it has the clean, healthy taste you’d expect from a handmade burger. The portion of fries varies depending on the staff member. Sometimes they’re soggy, sometimes crispy, but generally, when an older staff member is working, the portion is larger and the quality is better
