About
Sharktails Fish N Chips has built a solid reputation as one of Kalgoorlie’s most popular takeaway spots, and it’s easy to see why locals and passing visitors keep coming back. The fish is consistently well-cooked, with batter that comes out crunchy and golden, and the chips are generously portioned and done to a light, crispy finish. Snapper is a crowd favourite, and the hake gets regular praise for its flaky texture and that satisfying crunch in every bite.
The menu goes well beyond the basics. The dim sims are a hit, the gravy on the side draws plenty of fans, and the burgers have earned a strong following as some of the best in town. Sharktails also offers a family pack that regulars describe as genuinely good value, piled high and consistent in quality visit after visit. A kids’ menu makes it a practical stop for families on the move.
Service is friendly and fast, which matters when you’re grabbing a takeaway meal in a busy mining city. Wheelchair-accessible parking and entry are available, and the shop accepts card and mobile payments for added convenience. It’s takeaway only, so no need to worry about booking a table.
For anyone hunting down great fish and chips in Kalgoorlie, Sharktails is well worth a look. Check opening hours before heading over, especially during the dinner rush.

On what level on any planet does this constitute 26.50 worth of food there are 1.5 average spuds in this picture which levels up at very poor for a medium chips. No more business from me.
This is the first time I have taken the time and effort to write a Google review but I felt it was warrented. Photo attached is a $6 chips and gravy serve. It cost $12 for 2 (poorly cooked) potato cakes, 2 crab sticks and this serve of chips. This came with a side of grumpy service as well. Seriously how does someone think this is acceptable. Hopefully the new owners do a better job.
Best burgers in town, made properly and absolutely delicious. The dim sims and portion sizes of the chips are great, gravy on the side is delicious. They never fail to impress.

My shark felt and tasted like a piece of chicken… Not very nice at all.
Chips and squid rings too crispy/over cooked.
A great local fish and chip place – service very friendly and fast – fish (Snapper) was awesome and chips suburb – also very good value.
I’m going to get funny looks when I tell people that the best fish and chips I’ve had was in Kalgoorlie! Hake was flaky and the batter was crunchy plus delicious light brown crispy chips and the option to dine in at a very reasonable price made this a fantastic Friday afternoon! I’ll definitely be back! Thank you!
Best fish and chips in town. The fish was cooked to perfection and the batter is yum!!
We got the Family Pack…and boy is it packed! Best fish ever. Twice we have ordered over the last month. They have not failed on quality and taste. Super happy 👌
