Have been eating here for 10 years and the food is slowly becoming worse and worse.
Ordered a chicken burger with no cheese and fish and chips.
The fact the burger came with cheese was the least of our worries.
The fish had batter missing from it and was extremely overcooked and stale.
The chicken burger was like boot leather and upon waiting for it to be made the girl behind the counter reheated the chicken (a deep fried chicken burger) on the hot plate.
What a waste of time and money.
I warn you, do not eat here as you will be disappointed especially as there as some many other Chippys in our area.
Last week I ordered a piece of battered whiting and chips – instead of a nice chunky fillet I got 9x overcooked, crumbed, processed fish nugget things. I had missed a call from the store in regards to this and later emailed them to which they said they had a problem with their supplier so I let it go thinking alright, I missed their call and the supplier issue isn’t their fault. All good.
Tonight I ordered the same and kept my phone on me in case there was a whiting emergency. No phone call so I assumed everything was going to be as expected but when I opened the pizza box (yes – pizza box) sweet baby jesus those nasty little processed overcooked fish nuggets stared back at me. This time I didn’t receive a phone call though which if I had, I would have declined this so called fish and opted for something else.
In all seriousness though, if someone orders and pays for a fillet of fish, they expect a fillet of fish. You should, out of good will, give them a fillet of another kind if you’re out of the one they ordered. We will not be buying from here again.
First and last time trying this place. The fish is the size of my thumb!!! How can you charge for that – was the fish even legal size!!! The corn jack was just deep fried air, the squid rings were basically the same – deep fried air and items were missing from the order. Would give you half a star if it went that low. Absolutely disappointed!
Appalling behaviour from your staff hanging up the phone on me, telling me my chicken nuggets couldn’t possibly be raw, locking us out of the store before your advertised close time, giving us an incompetent and raw meal and refusing to do anything about it. Disgusting behaviour from your staff which is a shame this used to be a nice place. Not at all anymore what is used to be like.
Great experience having Chippy’s for lunch today. Had a burger and chips with gravy. All was fresh, hot and delicious. Good customer service too, polite and friendly. Would gladly return 😊

I purchased a burger on Tuesday afternoon, the sesame bun had mould on it! Unfortunately I can’t comment on taste as I couldn’t eat, it made me feel quite unwell.
Ordered 3 Potato Scallops and got 3 raw deep fried Potato slices, little bit bigger than a 20 cent piece, there would be more Potato in a chip than whats in these and hard raw potato covered in batter. No salt aswell, would think that would be a normal thing to expect with Potato!!
