About
Home is a fish and chip shop in Halls Head, Western Australia, and one of the better-rated spots for fish and chips in the Mandurah region. The shop recently underwent a full refurbishment and has come back stronger, with a freshened interior and cooking that has locals talking all over again.
The menu centres on the classics done well. Snapper and chips is a firm favourite, with the batter coming out light, crispy, and free of grease. The fish itself is consistently described as flaky and perfectly cooked, and the chips arrive golden and generous. Pineapple fritters round out the signature offerings, a sweet addition that keeps regulars coming back. Family meals are available and well regarded, making this a practical choice for a relaxed lunch or dinner without fuss.
The shop holds a solid four-plus star reputation across more than two hundred reviews, which speaks to the consistency of the kitchen. Portions are on the generous side, the staff are known for being warm and approachable, and the venue is wheelchair accessible with free parking on site. Card and mobile payments are accepted. Takeaway is available and the casual, family-friendly atmosphere suits all ages, with a kids’ menu also on offer.
Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times short, or drop in and see what the refurbished space looks like for yourself.

Good flaky fish in batter so crisp like a fresh and firm lettuce leaf 🍀. Got the fisherman’s basket for 17.5. Good price for the portion.
They confused me with the one other Asian guy but the amount of chicken salt was perfect so I’ll forgive them.
Ordered chips with 2 pieces of snapper for my father with a burger with lot for myself. The fish and chips were ok but the burger that I received should NOT! of costed $12 as it was the standard of a backyard BBQ burger, if that. Absolutely pathetic. I certainly won’t be going back there and would recommend anybody else wanting a burger from a fish and chip shop to look elsewhere as well.
The fish and chips here were absolutely top-notch — crisp batter, flaky fish, and golden chips cooked just right. You can tell they take pride in using quality ingredients and getting the basics spot on. Portions were generous, and everything was served hot and fresh.
My only (small) wish? A better selection of craft beers to pair with the meal would take it to the next level. A cold, locally brewed pale ale or IPA alongside that fish would be magic. Still, if you’re after classic Aussie fish and chips done well, this spot is a winner. We’ll definitely be back for another feed!
They reopened yesterday. We had snapper and chips last night. The fish was cooked to perfection. The batter was light and not greasy. Will definitely order again.
This fish and chip shop is one of the best I’ve been to they’ve reopened not to long ago and they are back better than ever with the inside looking absolutely amazing since the new refurbishment they did and the food is absolutely amazing would definitely recommend going here for some great classic fish and chips
Ordered family meal. Everything was excellent. The batter was very crispy and yummy. Everything in the family meal cooked to the highest standard, nothing was too greasy. The best I had for a long time, and I’m fussy. Give them ago, as you will not be disappointed.
I have been to a lot of fish and chip shops in my time and nothing!!! compares to the quality of this food and service, i’ve come here a few times now and the staff are lovely, their new renovations are top notch and food is always fresh and hot. If you’re driving by definitely come down
