Went to this place for lunch on a Sat. The place was quiet. Food was good. The fish was fresh and the prices reasonable.
We got the Senior Boss (fish, chips and salad) (17 dollars), Junior Boss (fish and chips) (12), two serves of chicken nuggets for the kids (8 per serve), sweet potato chips (10) and a piece of battered fish (8 or 9 dollars).

Wow! This place serves the freshest fish around. We brought the family as my kids wanted fish burgers and I have to be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot but the food here blew me away. It was not just how fresh the ingredients were (mind you even the pineapple was fresh in Hawaii 5.0) The food here is wonderfully delicious! My kids totally loved it. They even had colouring sheets with pencils that kept the kids busy b4 the food came. We had the $15 Fish burger offer on the menu, Hawaii 5.0, and the cherry was the seafood chowder yummy yum yum! We were so full, didn’t get a chance to try their homemade desserts. I will be back….. Stay tuned.

Walking distance and thoughtful service, i.e, a smiley face giving you a glass from a recently opened bottle or asking for a piece of fish and getting two because of size and weight considerations with the portions. House sparkling delicious and cold. Plus, tables by the sun setting? Yes. Say hi to my new favorite place!

A premium fish & chips at a budget price. Licensed venue with huge serves. Caters to all tastes, wife is gluten free & couldn’t have enjoyed her dish anymore. Very filling, was contemplating the platter but was fulfilled with the boss basket.

I’m a local, and I’m kicking myself for not having tried Fish Boss sooner. Ordered fish and chips, and got 3 medium pieces of fish (I honestly had expected one large piece, so it was a nice touch), and a large serve of delicious chips. I appreciated the fresh chopped parsley garnish over the fish, it was a nice touch. Expected a box, as you typically do when ordering for one, but got a nice surprise to see my order wrapped in paper, with the thoughtful touch of having the top pierced so the contents wouldn’t get soggy on the way home. Ordered 2 potato scallops and received 3. So generous! Enough to share for two (and I did, to my friend’s delight).
Staff were genuinely friendly, and so efficient. Busy Friday evening, but my order was ready in 20 mins. Place was packed inside and out, with a happy buzz.
Having tasted the quality of the food and read other reviews I’m keen to come back and try the famous fish tacos and seafood chowder.

Boss lady at the till was friendly and nice. Boss man who served the food was just as friendly and nice. Food was delicious and fresh. Loved the slaw which was light and not a slop fest dressed in mayo like how a lot of places do it. Generous with the sauces and the fish/prawns/squid/chips were cooked perfectly. Spritz bottle of vinegar on the side too at the table is a nice touch. Been here before and glad I came again today. Family loved it and will be back boss man. 💪
This is the spot. You need to be here. It’s a Friday night, happy hour, during Lent.
Every table is full, the phone is going off, there’s a line 5 deep at the till, and the plates still come out looking fantastic.
They keep up with table service for 15+ tables while people carry out takeaway with two arms full.
If you have a seat at the benches outside, don’t try to sit down with your BYO. Be cool and don’t risk their license. The drinks are cheap enough inside.
