About
CK’s Fish Cafe is a local fish and chip shop serving Pearsall and the surrounding suburbs of Perth’s northern corridor. Open for lunch and dinner every day of the week, it offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, making it a practical choice for families wanting a relaxed sit-down meal or a quick order on the way home.
The signature dish is battered hake and chips, and the menu also features snapper. At its best, the batter is notably light and crispy, and regulars have praised the generous size of the fish pieces. Staff are consistently described as friendly and efficient, with quick turnaround a recurring positive in the shop’s feedback. Vegetarian options are available alongside a dedicated kids’ menu, and the venue is wheelchair accessible with free on-site parking.
Feedback on CK’s has been decent overall, though some longer-term patrons have noted that consistency in batter texture, chip firmness, and portion sizes can vary from visit to visit. On a good run, the fish and chips here are hard to fault. The cafe has a comfortable dine-in area that seats families comfortably.
Phone ahead during the dinner rush, particularly on Friday and weekend evenings when the shop runs until 8:30 pm. See opening hours and menu below.

Have been using this place since we moved here 6 maths ago. It WAS the “go to” chippy locally. Sadly new owners seem to have lost the plot. Waited 35 mins tonight for dried up chips and grey off tasting fish which went in the bin. Managers special…no thanks!
Walked up to CK’s with my fiancé and our baby. Ordered $15 worth of chips with chicken salt. We sat and waited for the order and so watched what was happening in the store. When our chips were served, one of the crew sprayed the chips with vinegar. We saw this and when handed the chips, I quietly said that I had seen that the chips had been sprayed with vinegar and that we didn’t ask for vinegar. The team member that took our order then spoke with the person handing our food to us and said adamantly that I had said yes to wanting vinegar. We never have vinegar on our chips.
The next thing that happened appalled me. We saw the team member take the already cooked chips out the back with a basket and then quickly refry the chips, served them and tried to hand them over. This may have been okay if there was some sort of consultation to see if we were okay with this, but we were not, we just watched it all unfold.
Then when I raised the issue that we had witnessed what they had done, another team member said that this was common practice and refrying would get rid of the vinegar. I said I was not happy about this and that was when the manager stepped in and offered to re-cook the chips which we happily accepted.
These chips were cooked in record time (about 3 minutes). The manager said that it was a new batch that was cooked and the old ones are out the back. I thanked him and we walked home.
When we opened the package at home we were met with chips that did not look freshly cooked and then when we ate them, they still had the taste of vinegar on the inside.
We feel as if our local fish and chip shop has treated us with a complete lack of empathy from being told that I was wrong in what I had communicated regarding what we wanted on the chips, to having the chips cooked several times and being handed the same package after waiting all the time we did.
We have just moved to the area and tried the chips 2 weeks ago. We loved them and had made the commitment to go up at least once a fortnight to get them with whatever dinner we were having.
Unfortunately this experience has now burnt that bridge and we will not be returning.
Simply, delicious.pineaple much bigger than they used to be. And batter tastes so yummy even without any salt on.
Great little local fish and chip shop. Owners are very friendly and provide fast and efficient service. The batter on the fish was light and crispy just the way I like it! First time trying it and I’d definitely come back for more 🙂
Went to get takeaway from Chippys Hocking but unfortunately for me it was closed so I tried this place. $37.77 for 3 small pieces of snapper which was clearly frozen fish and very rubbery. I wouldn’t have minded paying $37.77 if the fish was fresh and well seasoned and good sized portions like Chippys Hocking. Will never go back what a rip off.
Recently ordered snapper and chips batter was terrible chips very ordinary I had from there some time ago and the batter was fluffy and crispy and the chips were firm and crispy too.
Looking for a new shop.
Sad they used to be so good!

I discovered this little jewel for my taste buds just two months ago, but by now I tried everything on their menu and they never disappointed me.
The butter is golden and crispy, my favourite is the hake, simply delicious!
There are options for vegetarians as well!!
The owner is so lovely and ready to guide you through their menu according to your taste.
Would 100% recommend it!
