About
South Beach Fish & Chips is a women-owned fish and chip shop in South Fremantle, serving up lunch and dinner to locals, families, and visitors passing through the area. The shop is known for using WA fish, which gives the menu a genuinely local character, and the friendly counter service keeps things moving at a good pace.
The menu caters to a range of tastes, with family packs available at solid value and gluten-free options on offer for those with dietary needs. Regulars favour the fish and chips as the main draw, and the casual, relaxed setup suits everyone from solo diners to families with young children. Reviews are decent overall, with most visitors pointing to the friendly staff and reasonable prices as highlights. A number of diners have taken their order to a nearby park for an easy outdoor lunch, which speaks to how well the food travels. The fish itself draws consistent praise, particularly from those who appreciate a straightforward, no-fuss chippie experience.
Dine-in and takeaway are both available, with free street parking nearby. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times short.

Delicious fish and chips, good value for money and warm friendly staff. We bought ours and went to the park for lunch, everyone was totally satisfied, I think this is a little gem of a fish and chip shop.
Chips tasted old and undercooked, potatoes scallops weren’t much better, the fish was nice and not to greasy. The squid was just like the ones you by at a supermarket. It was quick and easy to order
Just orderer the fishermans basket for $18. Was covered in salt, and I like salt, but this was another level and only had about 15 chips. Expensive disappointment. Go to sealanes instead around the corner.
Ordered snapper received what looked like shark (but with bones?) – Soggy fish, chips and sausage. Used dirty oil. Disgusting.
Went to this family owned fish and chip on weekend. Had the family pack. Fantastic value for $60. Friendly service clean shop value for money prices. Definitely be our regular now. And best thing was they offer gluten free options 10/10
Had the hake fish and chips. Being from the UK I love a good chippie dinner, this didn’t disappoint! Delicious, salt and vinegar and mushy peas!! Would 100% recommend.
Best chippie I’ve had in Australia! Friendly staff too and not over priced 🙂
