About
Koi Japanese Fish & Chips brings something genuinely different to the Westminster fish and chip scene. The shop is best known for its panko battered fish, where the crust comes out crispy and golden while the fish inside stays moist and flaky. Alongside that, the Asahi beer batter is a signature offering, producing a light, non-greasy result that regulars come back for specifically. Grilled barramundi and kaki fry (fried oysters) round out a menu that goes well beyond the standard suburban chippy, with several items considered difficult to find elsewhere in Perth.
The menu also covers familiar favourites done well. Dim sims, potato cakes, and chips are all praised for being fresh and not greasy, a detail that comes up repeatedly. The Feast 4 One is a solid option for those after a generous single-serve meal, and the kids’ menu makes the shop a practical choice for families. Portions are noted as good value, with the quality of the oil and freshness of the fish coming through in the finished product.
Dine-in and takeaway are both available, and delivery is also on offer. The space is described as clean and bright, with staff known for being friendly and keeping things moving efficiently. For anyone searching for fish and chips in Perth’s northern suburbs, Koi offers a Japanese-influenced take on a classic that is hard to replicate elsewhere.

This clean and bright fish and chips store serves excellent fish and chips. When you eat their food, you can tell that the fish is quality fish and the oil is always fresh. It’s like having premium quality food you’d expect from a restaurant, but from a local fish and chips store with fish and chip store prices.
Service is also friendly and efficient at this family run business, and the owner cares about her food and customers.
One of the best fish and chip in Perth. The batter is the key and they got this perfectly. The normal fish and chip is $10 and if u want Dhufish it $11.5 with regular chip is $4 and it very good size. Well worth the extra money. Overall loved it, just
Now I don’t have to travel to Freo or Morley for a good feed
The chip very crispy but soft. The hake fresh and delicious batter super crispy. Hamburger patty and sausage was great.
I actually think the new owners food is better than it was before. It’s a must try if in the area
The grilled fish with the salad was so delish. So flakey and tasty. The Asahii beer battered fish, not greasy. Nice and light and ever so tasty. Chips, Dim Sims, potato scollaps and Crab Sticks were all so tasty, and not greasy. (More than enough for two, and we even have left overs for reheating in the air fryer for tomorrow’s lunch.) The best!! Worth every cent!
Asahi beer battered fish and chips! I don’t think I could tell if it was Carlton dry used, not a fish aficionado, but it tasted good and we will be back.😊
Note it still had the old name for fish sake outside and we had to park at the shopping centre above and walk down.
Always come here to get fish and chips when im back in Perth from site. Best fish and chips in Perth. No doubt. Good servings. Good prices. Must try !!!
Have to give these guys credit. Great portions and fast service. Great to try Panko battered fish and the kaki fry (oysters) were perfect. Maybe the only place in Perth you can get. I must also say it’s too cheap for what you get
Best fish and chips I’ve had in a very very long time ! Cooked to perfection ! Will definitely be back !
Customer service was also good.
