About
Beluga Pittwater sits inside the Mona Vale shopping mall, which might not sound like the most glamorous setting, but this fish and chip shop has earned a reputation that puts it among the highest-rated seafood spots on the Northern Beaches. First-time visitors are often surprised by how good it is once they step inside, and regulars keep coming back for good reason.
The signature battered barramundi and chips is the dish most people come for, and it delivers on every front. The fish is fresh, consistently portioned, and cooked to order, with batter that holds its crispness. Chips are generous and properly done. The menu stretches well beyond the classics, with fish tacos, calamari, salads, and a kids’ menu that makes it a solid choice for families. Beluga sources its fish from the shop next door, so freshness is not a marketing claim but a practical reality built into how the place operates.
Dine in, takeaway, and delivery are all available, covering most situations. The venue is wheelchair accessible with free on-site parking, and cocktails and alcohol are on the menu for those settling in for a proper sit-down meal. No reservations are taken, so arriving a little early during busy periods is a smart move.
For anyone searching for fish and chips in Mona Vale, Beluga Pittwater is hard to overlook. See the menu and opening hours below.

One of the best seafood places to get your quick fix. My all time favorite is the pawn and snapper pie! This is a signature dish, not kidding! Also try the grilled prawn Tacos… No reservations here super fresh Seafood to enjoy and do not forget the salads to die for..
Great spot for a quick grilled fish with a beautiful salad and chips. Great size for lunch and also great value. They get the fish from next door so you know it’s fresh
Definitely a hidden gem. This is a well deserved five star seafood place. Freshly cooked delicious fish and chips with huge portions. Their potato salad is really nice and so is the sea food salad.
Will definitely top my list over many fancy over rated seafood restaurants.
It doesn’t look like much from the outside, especially as it’s located in a shopping centre but this fish shop is top notch, up there with some of the best fish and chips that I’ve had.
The couple of times I’ve eat here I’ve grabbed the snack box with is essentially a seafood basket. The calamari is so soft and silky, the prawns sensational and the fish is quality too. Chips are bloody delicious too.
I need to switch it up next time I visit and try something else from the menu as it all looks the goods.
The Salmon was out of this world, perfectly grilled, tender, and full of flavour. The chips were first class, crispy and fresh. The tartare sauce was the cherry on top, and the lemon brought everything together beautifully. Easily one of the best grilled fish and chips I’ve had!
I love the fish tacos here but it’s getting a bit ridiculous with the ratio now.
That is a lettuce taco with a hint of fish.
Also, not happy about the guy serving food whilst putting his hand down his shirt to scratch his chest… icky
We had 4x take-away barramundi and some calamari with salads and chips. The portions were perfect for our family, the chips were crisp and tasty, the salads were delicious, the fish were all consistently sized and cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed it and will be back.
For the newbies like us – it’s inside the shopping mall!
I was here last weekend, looking at the menu unsure which to have. The lovely young fella said the although to Hoki is more affordable than the others it is still very nice. So with that, I ordered Hoki, with less chips and more salad. It was very fresh, tasty salads and well presented. I would absolutely go back for more!!!
