About
Terrey Hills Takeaway is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Terrey Hills community for lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and kerbside pickup all on offer. Free parking makes it an easy stop, and the shop is a solid choice for families looking for a casual, unfussy meal.
The burgers are a clear drawcard here. The Aussie burger with beetroot is the signature dish, and regulars appreciate the flexibility to customise their order, adding or removing eggs, pineapple, bacon, and cheese as they see fit. For a classic, no-fuss version, many go with just meat, lettuce, tomato, sauce, and beetroot. Fish and chips round out the menu alongside coffee and other takeaway staples.
The shop carries a well-rated reputation, though some recent feedback has flagged concerns around freshness, with a handful of visits where potato scallops and fish appeared to have been sitting for some time. It is worth keeping that in mind, particularly during quieter trading periods. There is no on-site seating, but a local park across the road provides an easy spot to sit and eat.
For anyone in the northern suburbs of Sydney after a straightforward burger or a plate of fish and chips, Terrey Hills Takeaway is a practical and popular option. Phone ahead during busy periods to check stock availability.

One stop shop. Great coffee and fish and chips. Friendly service well priced too. No seating tables but there is a local park across the road. Also liquor shop within the centre and few restaurants too. Parking is easy and ample.
Ordered two burgers with the lot, a medium chips, and a spring roll. Unfortunately found hair in the chips upon opening them. Took them back, and received a free replacement. Halfway through one of the burgers, we found another hair, didnt really feel like waiting longer to take it back and get another, and had kind of already lost trust in their hygiene. Service and price were decent, if hygiene were not an issue. Two hairs soured the whole experience and made us hesitant to eat the rest of the food, even though we were really hungry. Unfortunate, really.
Absolutely outstanding Terrey Hills Takeaway deserves every bit of this 5-star rating. From the first bite to the last, the flavors danced on my palate. The service was impeccable, and the cozy atmosphere added to the overall charm. A definite go-to for anyone craving a top-notch dining experience.
Okay food, we’ve been there plenty of times, but this time we were waiting in a long line (not their fault whatsoever) and a older man walked straight past everyone inside to the front of the line. Once I got to the front, the woman asked who was next looking at the man. Knowing I was there way before this man I said I was next, because he had rudely cut in. Ordered and waited. I got a “have a lovely day” but once we got back and opened the bag, the food in the containers were all throughout the bag. The lids were placed on top so most of the food was wasted. Previously, they have provided a large amount of napkins with the lunch, but this time there was none, so we had to deal with this. Although I understand from her point of view I was the rude one, but I wasn’t. Nor is it okay for someone to waste someone else’s money and time. Will not be going back there, which is unfortunate as they were good.
Food was absolutely horrible she got us to pay then said she was out of stock with fish n gave us cocktail fish that must of been cooked hours ago. Butter chicken might as well been called pumpkin and rice yuk scollops and spring roll also hrs old was 3.30pm but she just didn’t want took cook fresh food. Which is OK but tell us that before we pay so we can go elsewhere.
Shame this place used to be good, now very ordinary. I arrived 15 mins before closing, she had everything clean, sorry can’t cook anything new. Wow. She didn’t seem to care. I thought closing meant you could buy something from the menu till then. Not here. I give it 6 months.
Best proper burger north of the bridge. Just ask for beetroot on the standard burger. Amazing no cheese just meat lettuce tomatoe sauce and beetroot $10.
Of course you can get the works eggs pineapple bacon cheese etc. Anything really.
I guess I’m a purest and go for original Aussie burger.
Used to be good. Bought 3 potato scallops that were tiny and clearly not fresh. I guess from the day before. Just cook up some fresh ones FFS and if they are small chuck an extra one in there.
