About
Boka Bites brings a fresh, well-presented fish and chip shop to the Bokarina beachfront strip, drawing a steady crowd from across the Sunshine Coast. The menu covers the classics and then some, with fish, calamari, prawn cutlets, and potato cakes all on offer alongside a strong gluten-free range that caters to a wide range of dietary needs. The signature BB Twin Catch is the dish to know, and the crumbed calamari has developed a loyal following among regulars.
The chips here are chunky and, at their best, come out satisfyingly crisp. Lunch specials offer solid value, with generous serves that fill the container. Fried chicken also earns its place on the menu for anyone in the group who steers away from seafood. The team is noted for being warm and welcoming, and the outdoor seating under umbrellas out front makes it a relaxed spot to eat in.
Boka Bites is fully family-friendly, with a dedicated kids’ menu and even dog nibbles for four-legged visitors. Wheelchair-accessible facilities and free parking make it easy for everyone to visit. Both dine-in and takeaway are available, so it suits a quick grab-and-go or a longer sit-down meal opposite the water.
For anyone searching out fish and chips near Bokarina, this shop has built a well-rated reputation since opening and continues to bring in new fans alongside the locals. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times down.

This is the takeaway fish & chip shop that Boka was waiting for!! Delicious seafood, salad range and doggie treats. The food is cooked healthy and the shop has the brand new feel.
I like the crumbed calamari best.
Also there is talk of a Taco Tuesdays special with seasoned chicken.
Dennis on the front counter is super friendly. Highly recommended.

Tried Bokabites for the first time today, and it was a fantastic experience! We ordered the snapper fillets with chips and salad, and the fish was absolutely delicious. The seasoning on the snapper had a great flavour that really stood out. The salad was fresh, with a nice dressing, feta, and a generous portion of leafy greens.
The chips were good, though they could have used just a little more time in the fryer for that perfect crunch. An option to add chicken salt would have been a nice touch. The snapper fillet itself was a little on the smaller side, but the quality and taste made up for it.
One of the standout surprises was the dog combo pack—our Labrador, Minnie, loved it! It’s great to see a place catering to our furry friends as well.
Overall, the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was friendly. A couple of small tweaks would make it even better, but I highly recommend giving Bokabites a try!
I can’t recommend this place highly enough! The food is absolutely outstanding and the service is always warm and welcoming. It’s not just the best fish and chip shop on the Coast, their homemade meals are next-level delicious. And the fact that everything is 100% gluten-free (a rare find on the Coast!) makes it even more amazing.
High quality and delicious fish and chips. This is a fantastic place for fish and chips. Also my husband doesn’t like fish and the fried chicken was the best we’ve had. Super enjoyable. Flavour of all the food was so good. If you want good quality, fresh fish that’s not unnecessarily greasy, worth it. Thanks Boka Bites for a great meal!
Paid almost $20 per serve for takeaway this afternoon and was extremely disappointed with what we received. The portion sizes and overall quality were well below what’s reasonable for the price.
I rarely leave negative reviews and usually let a bad meal go, but this was unacceptable and worth mentioning so others are aware. Photos attached for reference.
As a Sunny Coast local, this was quite disappointing.
Ordered a lunch special – great value, large fish and crisp chunky chips filled the container. Very friendly team and a lovely place to sit out the front.
Showed up for lunch before the crowd came at about 130ish. Wonderful location. Under shade and shelter in a strip of walkway shops opp the water and sand.
Bright and airy and 4 large tables and chairs outside under umbrellas.
Easy ordering, usual 1.5%card surcharge
We ordered the bb twin catch $46 2 hoki, 6 crumbed calamari, 2 prawn cutlets tho that they arnt, just crumbed small prawns, 2 really nice potato scallops that were crispy and chunky chips also ordered a serve of herb calamari $17.50but wasn’t any diff to the calamari in the boxes.
Calamari was very thick cut and no string making it more like stingray flaps. Wasn’t to our liking sorry
The fish was a big piece and the crumb was crispy and very nice but the fish had no flavour, it was thick tho and very filling. All up we spent $70+ with 2 drinks added
Chips were rather soggy and soft , we only walked outside to a table. Atmosphere put front is lovely. Cool, busy water across the Rd. Toilets are inside the next building ask for a key.
Parking can be non existent in the narrow pathway street , lucky if U get there early or later in arvo but beware the shops can be full as we looked and took a walk down the st. Drinks could have been icier were cool and not very cold
All in all it’s an ok place. Neat tidy, the teen serving needs to up his game a bit and be more welcoming and helpful but that will come with experience I hope. Tables were clean, condiments and serviettes are self serve on a trolley outside all in all it wasn’t too bad
They also have nibblies for your dog with chicken or fish bites , bowls of water for them as well bins at the door
Paid 103 dollars for 2 boxes, one of calamari and fish and one of chips and potato. The worst chips I have ever eaten. The worst calamari I’ve ever had and the potato cakes tasted like plastic. How can you operate as a food business serving this quality.
