About
Beachview Seafoods is a well-rated fish and chip shop in Caloundra, Queensland, drawing a steady crowd of locals and visitors alike. Open seven days for both dine-in and takeaway, the venue offers outdoor seating and is fully wheelchair accessible, making it a practical choice for families and groups of all sizes. Dogs are welcome too, which adds a relaxed, casual feel to the experience.
The menu centres on what the shop does best: fish and chips with a crispy, thin batter that has earned it multi-award winning recognition. The fish is sourced locally and arrives fresh, and regulars note the chips are well-seasoned without being overdone. Battered prawns and hamburgers round out the main options, and there are kids’ choices available for younger diners. Calamari also features on the menu, and those who order it tend to find the serves generous and the cooking on point. Lemon and tartar sauce come included rather than as extras, a small detail that goes a long way.
Beachview Seafoods sits in a prime Caloundra spot, popular for lunch and dinner with touring families and repeat visitors to the Sunshine Coast. The venue accepts card and mobile payments, which keeps things convenient. It is worth noting that wait times can stretch during busy periods, so arriving early or phoning ahead for larger orders is a sensible move.

Well priced & very tasty.
We had the calamari & chips, fish & chips, onion rings & the mediterranean salad.
The calamari were big & perfectly cooked, the chips were crunchy & the home made onions rings were the best I’ve ever had.
The salad was OK, but a bit of a let down in quality compared the cooked food.
Overall though it was very enjoyable & well priced.
Basic tables & chairs available inside & on the footpath. Very busy place, but there are tables available by the beach across the road.
Great views are a bonus
Location is spot on. Right on the beach and perfect for a sunset fish and chips by the park or beachfront.
The fish is out of this world fresh, chips are tasty and not over salted. Batter was crispy as, with no greasy mess like other places I’ve been too.
Prices are more than reasonable, and if you like fish and chips, why read this review?
Go there!! Now!! It’s great!! 👍
This was my first time ordering from here. The chips were undercooked and cold. The fish was over cooked, oily and fell apart without barely touching it. It was that oily, the fish and batter didn’t stay together. They need to change their sign. They shouldn’t be voted best fish and chips.
Seriously?! The whole time I was standing there waiting for the burgers, the chips were already sitting there so by the time I got them they were barely warm. Asked for a veggie burger NO beetroot and WITH cheese added. What did I get? Beetroot but no cheese. How hard is it? The order is right there in front of you. Young guy making burgers and the one serving couldn’t care less about what they are doing. We are locals and Beachview used to be consistently good and always our go to for fish and chips. Not anymore. Third order they’ve got wrong. We won’t be back and suggest if you want good fish and chips and your correct order don’t bother going to Beachview seafoods. They used to be ‘the best on the coast’ now they are poor service, average food at an expensive price. Can only think they’ve changed hands and owners have bought as an investment and are not actually onsite. Hence care factor zero. Pay the same and get top quality and excellent service at Seafood markets @ Caloundra.
What an absolute DISASTER!
1. Paid by cash, never received buzzer…THEN the lady after me received my order🤦🏼♀️
2. Elderly friend with us ordered & PAID for 2 Fish & Chips … Needed to follow up the order THREE times. Finally arrived with only ONE piece of fish. Was made pay AGAIN for the piece of fish.
So that’s the food part….. There was NO apology or acknowledgement for this shitshow. Absolutely still no explanation or offer of rectification.
As it stands right now my order buzzer remains sitting on the table end I’m without my food some 45+ minutes later 🤦🏼♀️
Disappointing to say the least <1 ⭐️
Takes forever to get your food, Waited for over 1 hour to get our fish and chips…Need to do better. I do understand busy season but so many staff cooking, no tables being wiped, no napkins or sauces being replenished, …I also have to add I do not like to see the staff wiping their faces and touching their hair while cooking the food…everyone should have hairnets on…I will never return to this takeaway…
Either get more staff and be better organised during peak times, or don’t take on too many orders
Best fish and chips we’ve had in years. Good batter, great tasting fish, and not too oily. Bonus they include lemon and tartar instead of charging. Would definitely recommend
My wife and I lived in Caloundra for several years back in the early 2000’s. We regularly went to Beachview Seafoods for our fish and chips usually eating directly across the road looking onto Pumicestone Passage. Back then it was always first class. Great food and friendly service. How times have changed. On Sunday 15/02/26 we happened to be staying in Caloundra for a family party. It was an awful wet and windy day so we decided to walk to Beachview to get takeaway for dinner. We ordered 2 serves of calamari and 4 potato scallops. Not very complicated. We collected our order in reasonable time and walked back to our unit. I handed the order to my wife who commented that it didn’t seem very substantial. I opened the bag and discovered only 1 serve of calamari with the potato scallops. I returned in the rain to Beachview and told the young chap taking the orders that we were missing some of our food. He said “Sorry it will be ten minutes to get the rest.” I said, ” The rest will be cold by then.” He said, “You can eat it on your way home.” I said, “Sorry but I paid for fresh and I expect to get it all freshly cooked at the same time.” He gave me a dirty look but took the rest of the order back and some time later I received the complete order. I walked back to our unit and we ate the worst calamari I have had in Australia in the past 20 years. Obviously they had recooked the original order with the new. It was as tough as an old boot. I have never submitted a review for poor food in my 67 years. I will never go back to Beachview Seafoods.
