About
Chippers is a well-loved fish and chip shop in Greenslopes, Queensland, carrying one of the highest ratings in the area across a healthy volume of reviews. Lovely fish and chips shop, great quality! I’ve ordered fish and chips, classic cheese burger and pineapple fritter, so delicious. Especially the chips are so good. And super friendly staff, I definitely will be back soon.
Oh man, this was an experience. After a stressful few weeks, being able to sit down in a gloriously cool, shaded area and enjoy my burger and chips in a relaxed atmosphere was just what I needed to help me wind down and chill out.
It didn’t hurt that the service was exceptional, the Burger (an Ol’ Timer with the works, featuring bacon, egg, pineapple, beetroot and one of the juiciest, most flavourful burger patties I’ve experienced in a long time!) was delicious and the chips (I ordered a medium serve and got more than what I would have expected in a large!) were glorious, but the real treasure was the vibe and the atmosphere. Definitely gonna be headed back before too long.
Tony and the crew sure know how to make some fish and chips. Chips cooked perfectly, nice and golden, plenty of chicken salt. Crumb on the whiting and calamari nice and crispy, perfect amount of breading. Seafood tastes super fresh. And the Mr Krabs burger was phenomenal. Will be back for sure!
Best Fish & Chips around!
Me and the guys at work were in the market for something new for lunch and this place hits the spot. Always consistent, hot, crunchy and well salted chippies.
Thanks Tony and the team 🌟

We were in the area after going to the pool and found this place only by chance, searching “fish and chip shop near me” but oh boy am I glad this place come up! Had to do a few U turns and back and forthsies before finding somewhere to park but it was worth the effort. The chips were the best chips i have ever had, idk how they got them so crispy no other chips will ever live up to Chippers. The cod was yummy, the gravy full of flavour, we enjoyed the calamari, the only thing that could be improved if anything, was the potato scallops they tasted a bit generic out of a bag in the freezer but were still really nice.
If I ever find myself in the area again im keen to give one of the burgers a go with a tonne of those epic chips of course. 👌
Food was delicious, especiallythe grilled snapper – best I have ever tasted! Price is very reasonable. Service was great. Staff were super friendly. Place was very clean.
We have just found our new local fish & chip shop❤️
Earlier last week, my wife and I had a meal at “Chippers”, we both had the fish and chips along with the calamari and potato scollops. It’s the best fish and chips we’ve had in along time, most fish and chip shops their fish and chips are too oily, but these were perfect. The owner was super friendly. We will definitely be going back again. If I could give TEN stars I would. **********
I hate to write a critical review of a local business, but in the pursuit of good fish and chips, I have to be a fair and unbiased judge. Chippers, was a mid-tier experience.
I ordered the crumbed cod, battered snapper, small chip, small gravy and pineapple fritter.
The chips were a cut above your average shop. Solid crunch and soft interior with a generous seasoning (choice of chicken or regular salt). The gravy was solid, with bonus points for generosity in portion.
The fish however, was a disappointment. The crumbed cod was dry, thin and rather flavorless. In the end it was just a vessel for gravy. The battered snapper was a nicer piece of fish, flakey, clean tasting and a good size. Unfortunately it was let down by a heavy, cakey batter. The same batter I thought worked quite well for the pineapple fritter though.
Price-wise, it’s on the upper end for a takeaway joint, totaling $45. Not too bad, but when you can get similar quality of fish for as low as $8 a piece at other places (15$ for cod here), I was expecting better.
Overall, I can’t recommend chippers as a fish and chip place, but the chips are good.
