About
PB Albert Park is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Albert Park community across lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available. The venue carries a strong reputation among Melbourne diners, with regulars consistently pointing to the freshness of the fish and the quality of the cooking. Blue grenadier is the signature, and the potato cakes draw their own loyal following.
The menu stretches well beyond the classics. Dim sims, burgers, sliders, and grilled fish options sit alongside the traditional battered fare, and the outdoor seating area adds a relaxed setting that works well for families and groups alike. Service is known for being quick without feeling rushed, and the staff bring a bit of personality to the experience. The batter is praised for being light and not greasy, and the chips come out crispy and golden on a good visit. It is worth noting that seasoning on the chips can vary between visits, and some diners find the fish portion sizes lean small for the price.
The venue is wheelchair accessible, free parking is close by, and the space is well set up for kids. Reservations are accepted, which makes planning a group meal straightforward. For anyone searching for fish and chips in Albert Park, this spot consistently earns its place among the better options in the area.
Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to secure a table.

Hands down one the best fish and chips shop in Melbourne.
The food tasted amazing & super delicious, portions are super generous and the chefs make everything fresh. Honestly been here a few times now and recommend anything on the menu.
The owner and the team are really nice and friendly.
Great vibes and atmosphere especially during a sunny day or evening, warning gets very busy !
Highly recommend !
Pony Boy is an absolute gem! We had the fish and chips, and it’s easily one of the better spots in the area for this classic meal. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, while the chips were crispy and golden – just how they should be.
The service was fantastic – friendly and welcoming, and it’s clear they put a lot of effort into making the place child-friendly, which was a big plus for us.
Highly recommend Pony Boy for a laid-back and delicious meal. We’ll definitely be back!
Got the double deluxe burger, it was absolutely epic! Friends got fish, dim sims and potato cakes and everyone loved everything! Outdoor area is unreal, service was quick and staff were hilarious! Will definitely be back regularly!
Soggy chips and quiet possibly the smallest kids cheeseburger I’ve ever seen. Wouldn’t even qualify as a slider. Poor value for money.
Tried the fish and chips which are a solid 4 star, quite good but not amazing. Everyone around seemed to be ordering kebabs and burgers though, so maybe PB’s meat dishes are better than the fish? Will have to revisit to try again!
Fish and chips we got from here for takeaway were solid, but got genuinely the tiniest serve of fish and a huge amount of brown rice for like $20. Pretty underwhelming across the board tbh. Salads were good, although ancient grain could use a bit more acid as it was pretty bland and just tasted of the sauce.
I usually don’t have grilled fish but thought I’d give it a try and I was very impressed! Cooked perfectly and full of flavour. I also tried the sliders and they rocked. Better than most burger joints.
Absolutely love Pony Boy! Hands down some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. The fish is perfectly crispy, the chips are golden and fluffy, and everything tastes fresh and high quality. The service is friendly, fast, and welcoming, and the vibe of the place is great too. You can tell they care about what they serve. If you’re anywhere nearby, this place is a must-visit — Pony Boy is elite!
