About
Sea Blue Fish N Chips has built a solid reputation among locals in Bundoora, drawing regulars back with consistently fresh food and a friendly atmosphere. The batter is a highlight, coming out crispy rather than greasy, and the chips are noted for their crunch. It’s the kind of fish and chip shop that earns repeat visits even when the wait stretches a little longer than expected.
The menu caters to families, with a dedicated kids’ section alongside the full range of classic options. Dine-in and takeaway are both available, making it easy to sit down for a meal or grab something on the go. The venue is wheelchair accessible, with parking available on-site and on the street nearby. No reservations are taken, so arriving a little early during peak dinner service is a good idea.
A few regulars have flagged that the chip portions can feel on the pricier side for the quantity, and calamari results have been mixed. That said, the freshness of the food and the warmth of the staff keep people coming back. The owner has a reputation for going out of her way to make things right when the kitchen is running behind.
For anyone in the Bundoora area searching for fish and chips that deliver on freshness and crunch, Sea Blue is worth considering. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to manage wait times.

8 Reviews on “Sea Blue Fish N Chips (Bundoora)”
I went here because all our local fish and chip shops were closed. Was only looking to order chips as we had about 8 kids to feed, the chips were very tasty but very expensive for the amount you get… I mean I paid $28 (large and small chips) and it was barely enough to feed a handful of people. Everything else on the menu was also on the higher price scale.
On the positive, the owners were friendly and the chips tasted really good.
Crispy batter and friendly service. Had to wait more than 30 mins despite ordering ahead on the phone. The lady gave me a chocolate for the long wait and she was extremely apologetic. Will come back as the food is fresh and crispy.
I believe I just found the best Fish and Chip spot in all of Melbourne. I have never had fish and chips like this ever in my life. Everything was PERFECT. Food was fresh, not too oily, chips were nice and crunchy and was consistent all the way through. And I’m not gas lighting this place. This is actually so good I had to leave a review. And I’ve never done one to any place I go to. This is my first and I gotta say, these guys killed it. The service was good, got my food on time (because I was on my lunch break) and the employees were very polite and kind. The location too, don’t let that fool you guys. These guys are honestly the best. RECOMMEND.
Just another fish n chips joint, pretty average. The calamari rings were below average, their taste and texture were nothing like calamari. The Chinese lady owner seemed lovely tho.
I have been coming to this fish shop for many many years, went there tonight fish was terrible very very thin and batter was terrible, after all these years I won’t be back, sorry guy but you have really lost my business.
Battered fish was absolutey horrible. The colour of the fish looked like tuna from a can. The souvalaki had Asian spices running through the meat. Never going to order from this place again. Stick to cooking Asian food and get out of the fish and chip business.
Not happy about it I want you open every day and I only come once a month and you didn’t even post it on social media
Ordered flake and 2 scallops $4.50 each. Flake was obviously frozen not fresh battered. Scallops were covered in so much batter they dripped out water when I broke them open. Former owner were fantastic but these owners don’t seem to care. Won’t be back
