About
Jonny & Lisa’s Fish & Chip Shop is a well-loved local spot in Kingsville, Victoria, with a strong reputation built on generous portions and honest pricing. The shop has a nostalgic, no-frills character that regulars clearly appreciate, and with well over four and a half stars from a solid number of reviews, it has earned its place as a neighbourhood favourite.
The chips are a particular highlight, with regulars rating them among the best in the area and noting the serves are anything but stingy. Potato cakes come out at a good solid thickness, dim sims are popular, and the menu stretches to battered frankfurts and burgers with the lot. The pricing is a recurring point of praise, making it an easy choice for families after a satisfying, affordable feed.
Dine-in and takeaway are both available, and the shop suits families well. Free parking right out front makes the run easy, and there is a playground nearby for kids to burn off energy after the meal. The interior is on the older side and could do with some freshening up, but the food is what keeps people coming back. For anyone in Kingsville looking for a classic fish and chip shop experience, it delivers where it counts.

Really good prices, big portions. The chips were some of the best I’ve ever had. Unfortunately the batter on the fish was thick and undercooked, perhaps it was closing time and I was the very last order at the last second.
Not great but not terrible either. Prices cheaper than most for piece of fish – about $1 less. And good size piece, average flavour, batter ok but I doubt I’d go there again. Prawns weren’t nice at all, scallops overcooked, calamari rings were ok.
Shop doesn’t look the best. Time for a renovation… but get past that. Food is always good. Price is right. Park right out front. Take the kids up the street to the swings where they can play and eat.
We always buy the takeaway fish and chips from here, it’s so delicious. Their potato cakes are a good thickness, not to thin. Their chips are the absolute best in the area a generous serving too. We love getting the South Melbourne dim sims. Also love their flake but sometimes the batter can be a bit heavy, I prefer their light crispy version not sure why it changes but still really good. A good menu as well if you want to order burgers etc. It’s our go to fish and chips and we have 6 to choose from nearby but we keep coming back to Johnny and Lisa’s
