About
Seddon Fish & Chips Shop has built a strong reputation among locals in Seddon and the broader inner-west Melbourne area, with well over four and a half stars from a solid number of reviews. The shop is known for delivering the kind of traditional fish and chips that regulars describe as a throwback to childhood, and it draws in solo diners and families alike for lunch and dinner throughout the week.
The fish is consistently described as non-greasy with a properly crisp batter that doesn’t overpower the flesh inside. Scallops are the signature item here and are widely regarded as excellent value, with regulars recommending grabbing a few as part of any order. The menu also features potato cakes, burgers loaded with fresh toppings, and hot dogs, making it a reliable stop for anyone after something beyond the standard serve. The hamburger with the lot is a particularly popular pick, and portions across the menu tend to satisfy.
Service is fast and friendly, which makes the shop a practical choice for a quick weekday lunch or an easy family dinner. Card and mobile payments are accepted, and free street parking is available nearby. The shop is family-friendly and offers a kids’ menu.
For anyone searching for fish and chips in Seddon or passing through the neighbourhood, this Victoria Street spot is worth checking out. Check opening hours before visiting, as the shop is closed Sundays and Mondays.

Been twice this week for lunch, and a few times previously. Food is always top tier, service is excellent.
Can recommend the hamburger with the lot deal for $15
Seddon Fish & Chips is hands down the best place for fish and chips in Melbourne!
The fish is always perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. The battered crisp outside is just right, giving it a wonderful flavor without overpowering the natural taste of the fish.
The potato cakes are incredible too—crispy, golden, and thick without being greasy. They’re honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and efficient.
If you’re craving classic fish and chips or the best potato cake in town, I highly recommend Seddon Fish & Chips!

I love ♥️ seddon Fish and chips on Victoria street, their service is friendly and genuine I’ve been going there since last year,. Their Burgers are so fresh and tasty also their other food is always yummy and fresh. I recommend them if you live near Seddon.
My 70+ Dad loves the Hot dogs and the Scallops are Best Value for price, Get 3 Scallops next time you visit.
I have been to many many fish and chip shops around Melbourne but this one is THE BEST in my opinion I don’t think I’ve ever been dissapointed after getting a feed here
At $13, the hamburger wirh the lot was ordinary, especially the lack of flavour, and $10 for a small flake, disappointing. Not to mention the chips – tasty, but appallingly small. My normal fish & chippery hasn’t re-opened yet, which l now appreciate so much more for it’s value-for-money.
Just visited this store ordering a Snack Pack and an additional piece of fish.
Service was super fast.
Decent Fish & Chips, not greasy at all.
Not the best I’ve ever had but decent price and good service in a clean shop.
