About
Catch Fish and Chippery is a casual fish and chip shop in Leopold serving the local community for lunch and dinner. The menu leans into generous portions, with regulars noting that even a standard serve of chips can stretch comfortably across a group. Battered flake is a highlight, with the batter drawing consistent praise for its crispiness. The menu also features crowd-pleasers like the Family Feast and the Lot and Pineapple Burger, plus a Sav In Batter for something a little different.
The shop offers dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, making it flexible for most situations. Outdoor seating is available, the venue is wheelchair accessible, and free parking is on hand. Families are well catered for with a dedicated kids’ menu, and vegetarian options are available alongside the seafood staples. Dogs are welcome too, which is a handy detail for those heading out with the whole household.
Service has been a talking point, with some visits going smoothly and others falling short during busy periods. On quieter days, the team has been praised for being accommodating, including with gluten-free requests. It’s the kind of neighbourhood fish and chip shop that locals in Leopold can rely on for a satisfying feed most days of the week.
Reservations are accepted, and phoning ahead during busy periods is a sensible move.

We ordered fish flakes and chips. The fish flakes were delightfully crispy, as were the chips. A single serving of chips was more than enough for the three of us, though this might vary depending on individual appetites.
& the seating by the ocean was perfect.
Chips tasted like old oil and left a bad taste in my mouth I could still taste 10 minutes after eating.
We couldn’t even finish the minimum of Chips they tasted that weird.
Some of the Chips were even brown in colour and not from being cooked.
Dim sims were nice though
Worse fish and chips I’ve had in a long time
Under cooked chips, soggy battered everything, dim sims were cold and tasted frozen and soggy in the middle, the lady serving us was rude and rolled her eyes multiple times, came back when she forgotten to put the things in I paid for I asked for them and challenged what I paid for when showing the receipt. I wouldn’t recommend
Fish in trays looks like they’ve been sitting there for days, scallops and squid was slimy in the tray be careful
I’m new to Leopold and this was my 1st venture to Catch (and I picked a day over a long weekend where service was no doubt stretched). Service was prompt, flexible with GF options, and my fish was on point 👌. Very satisfied and will be back. Oil may have been in need of filtering but hey, it was on a long weekend. Taste was great ☺️
Poor girl was on her own. Only fish and chip store open through this christmas break. After an hour i walked out. I ordered on the phone at 1145 and at 1230 still no order.
Batter on fish way to thick
Taste the oil was old.
Over cooked & burnt donuts & chips
Worst fish & chips I’ve ever had
If you think that’s acceptable to serve to customers then that’s very disappointing
I just wanted to extend my many thanks o the amazing team at Catch for complimenting our New Years Eve celebration with their beautiful customer service and very tasty food. For context, we decided to celebrate new years with our family at Eastern Beach and decided to enjoy some fish and chips for tea. We placed our order with the lovey girl who greeted us with a smile at 11.30am for a 6.40pm pick up in preparation to meet our family at 7. As it was our first time ordering from Catch for New years, we left it in their capable hands. I was very impressed with the menu options and recommended portion sizes (as we had to feed 4 adults) and was very reasonably priced with menu options for my vegetarian wife. When we arrived at 6.40, our food was wrapped up and kept fresh and warm in their warmer and we were again greeted with the friendly smiles of the staff as they completed the transaction. It was so well timed and when we got down to the beach with time to spare to enjoy the food. Our guests enjoyed the taste of their flake, chips and potato cakes (and my plain hamburger was really good). I very much appreciated the staff for just complimenting our new years celebration with tasty food and friendly smiles from a family owned business. I will definitely be heading back again. Thank you for your work on New Years Eve, it is very much appreciated. (And your donuts are awesome)

I would NOT recommend this fish and chips shop, one of the worst I’ve ever had,
Do not go here,
All food was tossed into the bin.
The fish and chips here are really good. The lady that works there is very friendly and obliging. Highly recommend this fish n chip shop.
