The food is unpretentious. The service is quick and very efficient. Very affordable considering how expensive everything is these days. Highly recommend. The burgers are hidden gem. The fish and chips is also phenomenal. The guy running the place is also very friendly and always up for a yarn. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Great mix of old fish and chips charms and contemporary food prep styles. Just a great place.
This shop never fails with the food. Jane and James weren’t there so I was skeptical but the food quality was consistent. Fresh battered flakes and really good potato cakes. Everything I tried tasted just as good and delicious.
My first time here and wow…so impressed! The portions were generous, the service was fantastic, and my order was ready even faster than I expected. The place is spotless too! Huge thanks to the whole team, can’t wait to come back!
Bit of a let down tbh. Regular fisho was closed, so opted to try this outlet. Flake was miniature, nuggets looked like they’d been deep frying from this morning. And tasted that way too. Prices indicated food would be substantial but realistically 2 flakes from here is the same as 1 anywhere else. Ordered a minimum chips, saw the bloke weighing it behind the counter and took out three chips. Cmon.. anyway. Service was good enough.
Very average fish and chip feed. Priced about the same as the other shops around. Chips were super crispy but held a lot of oil (felt the oil wasn’t hot when the fries were dropped in). Onion rings weren’t fresh, they were frozen McCain kind. Hamburger was average and the Chicken souvlaki was soggy and BAD! Unfortunately, will not be returning in a hurry at all. They seem to have very loyal clientele, and know many customers by first name. We ordered tonight and sat there waiting for the order. Huge drinks selection, which their customers genuinely engage in. Service was pleasant enough!
Nice food, but matters little if the service is terrible. Understand that being short staffed happens, so patiently waited 40 minutes for chips, burger in batter & potato cake tonight despite being told on ordering that it won’t be long. On previous occasions with other staff they’ve given me a heads up of a delay on ordering, which is appreciated. What I cannot understand is someone else who arrived and ordered 10 minutes after me receiving their similar order before me merely because they complained about the delay. Guess it doesn’t pay to be patient.
I had a great experience at Pier 31 Fish & Chippery. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft and flaky inside. Most importantly, there was absolutely no unpleasant smell – you can really tell they use fresh ingredients.
The owner and staff were very friendly, welcoming, and professional, which made the whole experience even better. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and portion size you get.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for delicious, fresh fish and chips with great service. Will definitely be coming back!
Mate, the best steak sandwich I’ve had in years, don’t let the youth fool you, these youngsters can cook, flake perfect, potato cakes perfect, pleasant surprise.
Well worth it. Great job.
