Glad I found this fish and chips shop for lunch. The burger with the lot is just fresh and yummy, couldn’t ask for more. Friendly service and the shop looks clean and tidy. Plenty of parking lots in the front. Definitely recommend.
We got a medium gravy chip, hamburger in batter, small chip, and a savaloy. The savaloy is actually a battered savaloy (which we didn’t want or anticipate). The batter across all items was not nice. It was too thick and doughy. Chippies should (and usually do, in Australia and also the UK) have crispy batter. The hamburger in batter should have a nice crispy batter, but instead this had a thick doughy soft batter. Same for the battered savaloy, chewy batter. The gravy was very thin (watery) and wasn’t tasty at all. So if you want a doughy chewy batter, you will love this place, but it’s not for me. Also, update the menu to state ‘battered’ savaloy.

I went to place my order but noticed pre cooked food sitting above the fryers so I ordered & politely asked for freshly cooked food & not pre cooked food & indicated to the food.
The owner heard & said he only cooked it like 10 minutes ago it’s not from yesterday then said he will cook fresh if I like again I said yes please only to have the girl serving me roll her eyes at me.
When it was cooked she promptly dumped it on the counter & walked out the back only for someone else tell me it was my order.
The owner then started to tell me why he started pre cooking food so I started telling him that I did not appreciate the eye rolling it was rude & that I wasn’t sure if I would come back in mid sentence he turned his back & attended the fryer.
It was very disappointing as I have been a loyal local. I did not appreciate being made to feel like I was in the wrong when I only asked for freshly cooked food politely.
Not many places like this anymore. Proper old school fish and chips. Potato cakes outstanding. Burger was also delicious. Great service. Will be back!
I tried a new fish and chip shop tonight because they had a special running and immediately regretted it. Your food is always so consistent, fresh, and good portions. I especially love the tartar sauce & crispiness of the food. I thought credit was due so here I am telling everyone to come here and support your business. I have never, ever had a complaint when coming here and the service is great, you are always greeted by a friendly staff member which makes it all the more enjoyable to support this business. Quite good value for what you’re getting as well. Thanks guys!
