About
Wilson Street Store is a well-regarded fish and chip shop and café in Wodonga that covers a lot of ground, from classic takeaway fare through to breakfast, brunch, and dessert. The menu stretches well beyond the fryer, with burgers earning a strong reputation among regulars along the border region. The chips are generous, the burgers are full of flavour, and the lunch pack deal makes for solid value.
Coffee is taken seriously here, and the café side of the operation is just as popular as the takeaway counter. Bacon and egg rolls are a draw for the morning crowd, pies are hearty and filling, and the staff are consistently praised for their friendly, welcoming manner. Service moves quickly even during busy periods, which keeps the lunch rush flowing.
The shop offers dine-in seating, including outdoor tables, alongside takeaway and delivery options, making it flexible for groups, families, and solo visitors alike. A kids’ menu and wheelchair-accessible facilities round out the practical side of things. Free on-site parking makes a stop here easy whether you’re a local or just passing through Wodonga for the day.
A solid four-plus star rating across a good number of reviews reflects the consistent quality visitors have come to expect. Phone ahead for larger orders during the lunch and dinner rush.

If I could rate this place a 0 stars experience I would, the staff are Terrible avoid lady with bright pink hair if at all possible. The food they serve is what you eat before you end up needing heart surgery, if this is your diet change it, I did and lost weight and feel much better and the experience at this shop made me change my ways. So thanks for the terrible service because it saved my life.
Called in for lunch today and a coffee ☕…the bacon and egg roll was cooked to perfection and well presented. The cook didn’t skimp on the bacon either! Outstanding customer service and the staff all got on well and respected one another… l’ll definitely be going back there. ❤️
The food is excellent! Prices are as expected in today’s economy, but the quality & speed of service are fantastic! Staff are very friendly too.
Beautiful place to eat. Only in the area due to an appointment and someone recommended eating here while we waited. We ordered a couple of pies and hot drinks. The front of house was lovely, very welcoming, pies were so filing, I struggled to finish it and the drink was perfect. The cleanliness of the store was immaculate also!
Went here for smoko, would have to be some of the best take-away burgers on the border. Full of flavour, big burgers, got the lunch pack so came with a stack of tasty chips and a drink
I got 2 different to normal dim sims, I ate one and threw the other one out. One was very dry but tasted nice and the other was just disgusting. What looked like roast beef and gravy in the bainmarie was so dry that it had shards, looked like it had been there for a week.
Also those 2 very poor dim rims cost me $6 :0
Been here so many times over the yrs. Has been a awesome little shop to have near hospital. Many times I’ve seen ppl in tears, walk there from hospital, they always walked out with a smile.
I’ve gone a few lately, it feels so different.
Now just doesn’t feel like a good vibe. And not a very friendly atmosphere like previously over the yrs.
Unfortunately the food we received was inedible, undressed coleslaw which tasted somewhat fizzy and smelt like it had been in the container for a long time, fish (both fried and grilled) was horrible.
Disappointing for nearly $70.
Only positive was the friendly staff
