About
Forrestfield Fish and Chips has built a solid reputation as one of the better fish and chip shops in the Perth hills area, drawing regulars from well beyond the suburb itself. Some have made the trip down from the Wheatbelt more than once, which says plenty about the consistency on offer here.
The seafood basket is the signature dish, and it earns every mention it gets. Loaded with fish, prawns, scallops, calamari rings, crab sticks and chips, it delivers genuine variety and value in a single serve. The fish is notably fresh, and the batter is described as golden, thin, and satisfyingly crunchy without being heavy. Chips come out crisp, and the seafood is cooked with care, particularly the scallops and calamari. For those after a shared feed, the fish feast for two packs in fish, prawns, crab sticks, calamari, scallops and chips at a price that makes it hard to argue with.
The service gets consistent praise too. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and the shop is known for being responsive when customers call ahead. Both dine-in and takeaway are available, and there is a kids’ menu for families. Wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance are provided, with free parking on-site and on the street.
For a fish and chip shop in Forrestfield that delivers on freshness, value, and a warm welcome, this one is worth keeping on the list. Phone ahead during busy periods to get your order in early.

Without a doubt one of the best fish and chip shops I’ve been to. Value, cleanliness and really tasty. $16 for the 2 of us (ordering just the minimum of chips) and we couldn’t finish it.
Would have given 5 stars but the dim sims were a let down as they were battered
Great value for money – fish feast for two was $24 includes fish, prawns, crab sticks, calamari, scallops and chips. Absolutely hit the spot.
This is THE place where people in the hills get their fish and chips. It is consistently decent and not overly priced. It is an unassuming little shop tucked away from major roads, and there is plenty of parking.
100% without doubt the best Fish n Chips in Perth. Driven down from wheatbelt twice now and both times was fantastic.
Fish is so so fresh and just how I like it.
Have had some nice fnc in Perth and some utter shockers ( our local one is disgusting ) but this place is by far the best ive ever tasted.
Thank you 🙂
Popped into Forrestfield Fish & Chips for the seafood basket which was excellent.
– Fish
– prawn

– chips
The seafood is cooked perfectly, nice and tender, particularly the scallop. The calamari isn’t chewy, but the seafood could do with a touch of seasoning. The batter is golden brown, thin but crunchy. The chips are tasty, nicely salted, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
We called earlier that they were open, they answered and amazing we got what we ordered just as they opened. So friendly and accommodating, delicious fish and chips more often than not. Love this place and the people that run it.
