Drove past this Fish and Chips place many times so decide to give it a go! And wow the batter for the fish is thin and very crispy like something you’ll expect in Freo. The chips however, just neutral… definitely a thumbs up 👍
On a quiet street you’ll find this place, and if you order here, you’ll discover a treasure that belies its humble premises. There is simply a quality here which is absent in many fish and chips places: Fresh, hot, and crispy, with only a fraction of the grease that almost beggars belief.
You’ll be greeted by the cheerful proprietor and pleased by the value. I find myself coming back here time and time again, despite never having lived in the area.
Try it for yourself, and restore your faith in good old-fashioned fish and chips.
The fish and chips here are always crispy, not excessively oily, huge servings. We come here about 3-4 times a year and he remembers us everytime. The quality of their fish and chips is the same every time. Also there is no beer used in the batter. Thank you so much, our family loves your shop and your service the most!
First time at this place. The poor owner is working by himself this evening and I’m not sure whether this is normal. The food was slow. The food was very oily. He is very friendly and price is ok. Give it go and judge for yourself.
Large pieces of hoki & large portion of chips. We ordered the meal for one of fish & chips, added another fish & sauce. Very satisfied & definitely recommend. Only had one person doing it all. We only waited for 10 mins.
Been to this Fish and Chips Shop 2 times this Place is amazing Very good quality fish and chips he is very cheap and very pleasant who works by himself and always makes you welcome definitely well worth making a trip to see for yourself definitely going back on a regular basis for my fish and chips
Ive noticed that they havent been open for a while now and i wonder that is because the food is really really good and affordable it saved me and partner alot of money. Pls open again🥹😭
Let’s start on a positive note, the shop had a bit of an upgrade.
We ordered our usual Fisherman’s Basket and Snapper Fish N Chips and… it is NOT the same 😩
I am so saddened. We called ahead for pickup and noticed that it wasn’t the same enthusiastic man on the phone. We said our orders with salt and vinegar and they said see you in 10mins. When we got there in 12mins, we still had to wait another 10mins.
You will notice in the photos the fries are a bit burnt and it did taste a bit burnt. The fish batter… it looked the same but it was not the same soft crunch feel.
I hope this is a one off thing. I’ll give it a try again but not anytime soon.
Maybe the oil was too hot? Price point wise it seems the same.
