About
Victoria Park Fish & Chips in St James is one of the few halal-certified fish and chip shops in Perth, which makes it a notable option for local families and visitors seeking halal seafood. The shop offers dine-in and takeaway, plus delivery, and the dining area is compact but comfortably seats families. It is wheelchair accessible with free street parking nearby, and a kids’ menu is available for younger diners.
The menu covers the classics alongside some less common items. King snapper and a fish burger are among the highlights, and the seafood basket draws attention from regulars. Fried oysters and squid are popular choices, and the Family Deluxe set is a solid pick for groups. Chips are served in regular portions, and there is also a sausage beef option for those after something different from the usual seafood fare.
Opinions are mixed on portions and value, so expectations may vary depending on what you order. That said, a number of regulars praise the freshness of the fish, the crispness of the batter, and the friendly, attentive service. The shop opens for dinner from Tuesday through Sunday, closed on Mondays, so phone ahead or plan your visit around the evening trade.
Phone ahead for orders during the dinner rush.

The best fish and chips in Perth! Not too oily or salty. The fish are fresh and cooked perfectly. Crunchy outside and soft buttery inside but still have the firm Baramundi texture. The service from the young guy who served us and the lady owner who cooked the meal was 5 stars. Friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back real soon!
Has been keen to try this fish & chips shop but always distracted to get another food instead. But, this time, I randomly decided to try after a quick grocery in Aldi. Bought the standard fish n chips using hake fish and added 1 crabstick and dimsim. Not gonna lie, I had low expectations for this shop, but it turns out I was wrong. The fish batter was crispy and well season. The fish is fresh as well as the chips. The portion, for the fries was just ok, not too much or too little but the fish is humongous. The salt on the chips also perfect. My only suggestion will be to fry the fries a bit longer, probably a minute or less. Otherwise, definitely will come back if I want fish n chips. Another good thing, this shop is Halal certified.
Food was amazing with very friendly and accommodating staff. A little small but could fit our family very nicely. Very conveniently located amongst stores. The Family deluxe set was good. Highly recommend the fried oysters and squids. Thank you for the very good halal fish and chips!
In love with this delicious and yummy fish and chips!!! 🤤😋🤤😋 It was my first time trying Victoria Park Fish and Chips and it was a really great experience. Crunchy and fresh ingredients are served. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is probably the only few Halal Fish and Chips in Perth. Very friendly customer service. Food was also very delicious. Price is also very affordable. Two Fish and Chips was enough for our family of 4.
(Note: Majority Fish and Chip outlets are NOT halal because they fry non-Halal meat together in the same oil)
I thought of trying the local business instead of the macca’s across the street, very disappointed. The serving size was too small, for what I paid ($23) for a fish and chips combo. To add the misery, the fish tasted like a rubber, definitely an old batch.
Will not recommend.
Today being our first time getting Fish and Chips in this area. Delicious and fantastic service and personal touch. We will definitely be spreading the word.
Serving size pathetically small, fish (Hake) was dry and thin. My usual F&C shop in St James was closed so I thought I would try this one. Will not be going back.
