About
Eureka Fish & Chips is a popular fish and chip shop serving Wilson and the broader Perth southern suburbs, with a strong reputation built on fresh, well-seasoned battered fish and a menu that goes well beyond the basics. The battered fish is a consistent highlight, arriving crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the chips earn regular praise for their golden finish. The tartar sauce gets a particular mention from regulars, and the fried pineapple is a fun addition worth trying.
The menu stretches into some interesting territory. The battered Mars Bar has attracted fans, the fish burger is well regarded, and battered oysters have made a strong impression on those who order them. Onion rings are listed as a signature item alongside the classic fish and chips, and snapper features as a fresh, clean option for those after something less heavy. The shop also offers a kids’ menu, making it a practical choice for families.
Eureka Fish & Chips is open for lunch and dinner, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has free on-site parking, so it suits a wide range of diners, from groups and families to solo visits. Payments by card and mobile are accepted. It is worth noting that recent reviews are mixed on consistency, particularly around grilled items and chip portion sizes, so the battered options appear to be the safer bet.
Phone ahead for pickup orders during the dinner rush, especially on weekends.

Hadn’t had Eureka Fish & Chips for sometime. Made an order over the phone for pickup. We arrived a couple of minute before the 20-minute, so I had a chance to chat with the new owner (John) who took over the business 3 months ago
I must say the batter is still as good as ever. Light and crispy both hot and warm. We ordered the Seafood Set for 2 and upgraded the fish to shark which is really fresh and firm. The scallops was fresh and juicy! John had given us extra squid rings. The squid rings need some salt though. The chips are nice but could do with another minute or two in the fryer.
Definitely one of the better takeaway fish & chips in Perth.
Delicious fish with amazing seasoning, tasty chips, and I recommend the tartar sauce and fried pineapple!
Hands down the best fish and chips I’ve had in Perth! I ordered the fish burger, chips, and a battered Mars Bar and everything was cooked perfectly. The fish was fresh, crispy on the outside and tender inside, the chips were golden and crunchy, and that battered Mars Bar was the ultimate treat.
The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and you can taste the quality in every bite. If you’re looking for proper fish and chips with flavour that actually stands out, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it enough to anyone craving a great Kai (feed)
Haven’t ordered from here in a long time. But still great food.
Fish burger, chips, battered oysters and kiwi hotdog.
Fish was yum. Chips nice and crispy. Battered oysters were so good. I prob should’ve asked for sauce with my hotdog not realising it didn’t come with sauce. But still tasted nice.
Downside can’t get an egg in the burger anymore.
Service great though. I seen the cook deliver the fish and chips to the shopkeeper that ordered after me.
Reviews looked good so went to try it out. Ordered 2 grilled snappers which were so dry it was tough to chew. Even worse were the battered squid rings – unfortunately couldn’t even eat it as it’s clearly old and dried up.
The food was cooked well and that’s where it stops for rating. After placing a phone order I arrived to pay for my meal, upon entering the store I was ignored by the young male who’d just taken my order on the phone. He was more interested in scrolling on his phone, while the store was empty. I stood at the counter in front of him, eventually when he was ready he asked how he could help. I said I’d like to pay for my order I placed over the phone to which he looked surprised. There was an awkwardness in the experience. The place is literally dead,no atmosphere. The food seems overpriced like many fish n chip shops these days. However to finish on a positive the gummy shark I had was a crisply battered and a decent portion which tasted pretty good. I can’t tell you much else.
Two weeks ago was when I visited this business, however your reply speaks just like the experience that I had in person, very poorly. Customers can review and comment as they wish you don’t control them. I haven’t lied I spoke the truth which may have hit a sore point for you, an area for you to work on yourself, your business and your customer service.
Coming from a chef and server for over twenty years., I’m very informed on costs and what I’m talking about. Good luck with the future of your business I hope it picks up for you.
I’ll add an imaginary star for the fact you serve sea scallops with the roe on. 👍

Wed 4 Mar-26. First time customer. I did an AI search of most favourite fish n chip shops near me and Eureka was highest rated so with anticipation I chose to go there. I ordered a variety of menu items. The local shark was meaty with nice batter and they threw in a couple of extra small pieces which I appreciated. The chips were solid and crispy. The crab stick was nice too. The other items, to be honest, were disappointing. The 3 small potato scallops, it seems shrinkflation prevails here. One was so small as to be ridiculous for $1.75. The Kiwi Dog was stiff and hard like it came out of the freezer. No amount of tomato sauce could make it more palatable so it was discarded after two tentative bites $5.80. Finally the crumbed sea scallop – it was disappointing in size, texture, taste, and composition – $5.70.
The two attendents would benefit the business by being more engaging with customers (I was the only one). I get that it was midweek and wasn’t busy and sporadic customers like me don’t generate too much excitement.
I hope my feedback is received as constructive.
